Goose Green councillors - how can we help?
undergran replied to jamesmcash's topic in General ED Issues / Gossip
And don?t forget Dulwich Wood as we too are affected and one of our councillors is cabinet member with this as a responsibility. -
Underhill Road is now effectively a ?main? road with much heavier traffic trying to avoid Lordship Lane so rejoining the south Circular at the south end to get to Forest Hill or Sydenham and using Melford Road to rejoin close to the Grove junction to Dulwich Common. Traffic monitoring on Lordship Lane is close to Court Lane so does not count this traffic.

Guys working on roof disturbed a wasp nest. Lucky for us Roger was just completing a job very close by and he was with us within half an hour! Problem solved speedily and efficiently. Highly recommended.

Major fire/incident this morning in Underhill Rd/Melford Rd
undergran replied to IlonaM's topic in General ED Issues / Gossip
Eight fire engines and around 60 firefighters are tackling a house fire on Melford Road in Forest Hill. The whole of the first floor and all of the roof is alight. The Brigade was called at 0704. Fire crews from West Norwood and surrounding fire stations are at the scene. The cause of the fire is not known at this stage. LFB UPDATE -
Many of you have also asked me about priority online delivery slots for elderly, disabled and vulnerable customers. We have been able to identify a number of customers as elderly and vulnerable based on the information they have given us previously. These details would include date of birth and if you have ever used our vulnerable customer helpline. For all of these customers, we will email you today (Sunday) with information on when slots will become available. If you do not receive an email and you consider yourself to be vulnerable, please visit our Groceries Online website on Monday for information on how to contact us. We are also working as quickly as possible on an option for people to register themselves as disabled and vulnerable on their online shopping accounts. Nothing to do with information from government or GPs

former East Dulwich councillor - how can I help?
undergran replied to James Barber's topic in General ED Issues / Gossip
The report of the meeting is on the EDF thread "Re: Grove Tavern." It is In College Ward and one of the .College councillors was at the meeting. -
This bungalow was originally used as a dentist/orthodontist surgery in the '80s
-
I have never understood why College Ward would not end at Lordship Lane and any re-drawing of boundaries would seem a good opportunity to sort this out - more sensible to have the whole of Underhill, Belvoir, Melford and Wood Vale in the same ward rather than dividing them as at present.

It's outside the Baptist Church in Rye Lane

Just leaving house at 7.30 this morning and interrupted man in bright blue van who was very "interested" in some building materials that had been delivered earlier and left at our gate. He then pretended to look in our skip before returning to his van and making off. Also in the Underhill/Melford area.
-
On the road from the gate. And yes I was on foot not in a car
-
The traffic wardens were having a field day today in Dulwich Park putting tickets on any car not parked in a designated bay, lots of people having a happy and sunny afternoon stroll were going to be very unhappy!
-
Oh dear second one at that junction in short time
-
Why are buses being diverted at Plough down Barry Road and then back by East Dulwich Road to Goose Green? Go tons having a helipad installed?

...and the gazpacho great too!

Signed up for Founder Member and card arrived next day, but nothing to say it is Founder Member or expiry date 12 months after ED cinema opens. Can I assume this information is gathered in the background?

Police Saturday afternoon lordship lane
undergran replied to dimples's topic in General ED Issues / Gossip
Another incident this afternoon around 5 pm. One unmarked and one marked police car racing down Dog Kennel Hill and five minutes later four police standing over man lying on the ground outside HSBC. -
Has anyone had any dealings with this Association? I'd be interested to know as I have had a very frustrating time over two years (or more) trying to get them to replace a fence between my property and one they own. In order to save our garden we have now paid for it ourselves and think it very unlikely we will receive even part payment from them despite their acknowledged responsibility. Just wondering if we have been unlucky or whether there is a general level of disengagement and inefficiency within the organisation.
-
I think it's the number apart from other considerations - there are currently 13 cars in the ED area and another 15 just the other side of Peckham Rye park in Nunhead... are there really that many people who want to use them?
-
Yes! We had two parked right outside our house where parking can be difficult anyway. I spoke to the operative checking them and whilst informing me that there will be 600 of them across London (!) he did move one round the corner. The other one stayed for 11 days without moving. Zipcars have clear parking spaces agreed by the Council, these ones have GPS and the idea is you check where your nearest one is, take it where you want to go and then just leave it legally parked. I am not against car clubs in general, but this company seems to be putting a lot of cars into a small area without consideration of residents
