This was the email I sent before reading this feed: 'Dear Ms Villiers, One of the things I really dislike about Labour is their stupidity. They alienate the people who keep the country running to the advantage of minority groups (from business leaders to people on benefits). What would be supremely foolish would be to take away from working people their mode of getting to and from work. If you elect to remove the stopping service for Denmark Hill and Peckham Rye to Victoria, all you will succeed in doing is ensuring that working people move out of the area. That would be a shame as not only would it halt some much needed regenerating in its tracks, it would return the area to the crime-ridden and impoverished ghetto that it has been known as for so long. So I guess you have a choice. I appreciate everything comes down to money, and yes Labour totally screwed everything up, but returning Peckham to the Dark Ages seems to me rather a significant own goal for your Transport Ministry. I am confident the money can be found if we look hard enough (perhaps ask the Home Office who recently learnt the lesson of policing cutbacks only to bankrupt themselves on paying for the policing reaction to the riots...).' Perhaps her response will be an accurate overview of exactly what service we will be getting in both the short and long term. I'll let you know.
