To a lot of people they mean nothing. We have had dogs tied to goal posts, park benches and left to die in the middle of woods, Emaciated and dying through sheer neglect. A 6 week old bishon x puppy was handed in a few weeks ago with problems with his Patella`s, severely dehydrated and full of worms that hadn`t been treated he was in a really bad way. Sadly even after extensive vet treatment he lost his battle :-( Another puppy not even old enough to leave Mum who had no life from the moment he was born. This is Womble, thrown out in the streets with severe Demodex Mange which is easily treatable. She has been one of the lucky one`s. Now rehomed https://www.facebook.com/media/set/?set=a.320619921298741.92291.100000522074097&type=3

Sadly this kind of thing happens all the time. We have a cat at New Hope Animal Rescue who was zipped up in a holdall and chucked in the river. Luckily someone saw it happen and managed to get to him. At this time of year loads of animals are dumped because it`s out with the old and in with the new for xmas. A large percentage of the new animals are then thrown out around in the early months of the New year because people can`t be bothered with them or lose interest when the cute puppy or kitten starts to grow. It`s already at crisis point in the animal rescue world because animals are being given up because of personal finances, add to that the hundreds of animals being bred to line the owners pockets and you end up with a lot of unwanted animals with no decent homes to go to. The rescue I work with is non destruct a lot of them aren`t and hundreds of animals are being put to sleep each week. Please think before you buy any animal and ensure you can look after it for life. It should after all be part of the family not a disposable item to be thrown away without consideration of where it may end up.

Maybe you should move to Mars, it`s the only way rg! -
Sorry about your sad news Jane, I work and Kings and I am really glad everyone made things a little more personal for you when you were there. It`s a great place to work as most of the people there really do care. PALS are always glad for an email and will pass on your thoughts to the team involved. It really does make the staff smile when someone takes the time to write a few lines.

My Sons Moped was stolen from our garden on Crawthew Grove between 12 Midnight and 9am this morning. Most certainly lifted as it wasn`t starting up yesterday and had a disc lock and steering lock on. Would be a miricle but if anyone see`s it could they let me know. It`s a Gilera DNA Grey/Red bodywork Reg Number WA53 LPC. Thanks

Well said Bonnie :-) There will be a static demonstration againt BSL tomorrow at The old palace yard opposite the House of Commons as well as in Glasgow, Brighton and Manchester 12 -3pm. What has happened to Lennox and lots of other dogs has made people even more determined to peacefully fight this so called law and show it to be a complete waste of time and taxpayers money.

There are bad apples in all walks of life, Be it Human or Animal. Does it mean that everyone or thing is deemed to be the same?

I totally agree with you regarding Death Threats etc, It takes away the whole point of what most people are trying to do with regards to getting a repeal. My point is that Breed specific Legislation does not work. It hasn`t stopped morons breeding (It does infact make breeding more of an attractive as the idiots in our society make themselves feel better by owning a "Banned" dog), It hasn`t reduced dog attacks and has cost millions in tax payers money to enforce a law that doesn`t work. Since the Dangerous Dogs Act 1991 was introduced, millions of pounds of public money and resources have been wasted by already overstretched police authorities in seizing dogs simply for being of a particular breed. 10 million pounds has been spent by the Metropolitan Police alone in the past 3 years simply to implement the Dangerous Dogs Act, relating to the seizure, kennelling and euthanasia of banned breeds. http://www.bva.co.uk/news/2274.aspx There are many dogs seized, Many dogs euthanised in council pounds and many more awaiting their fate every day. The whole point is a dog can be seized because of it`s size, shape and look. If a tape measure can determine a dog is of "Type" and then the dog is seized and confined for months on end (At the cost of the taxpayer) then after the case goes to court is released, very often in very bad condition. Many of these dogs have never shown aggresion (Human or dog) and are seized purely because of the way they look. A female taken that may be classed as "Type" could have a litter, Some of the litter can and have been cleared and some typed and put to sleep. As I stated before, It is a law that doesn`t work and needs to change. As with all dogs, It will be the person at the other end of the lead at fault for it`s dogs behaviour and the law should reflect that. A dog is born in a certain skin and has a death penaly on it`s head because of it, Is that really a fair way of judging how that animal will behave? Having all dogs microchipped for the purpose of owner identification is great if you are a responsible owner and lose your dog but time after time, council pounds phone the registered owners and are told they gave the dog away etc etc but when nothing is done when the dog changes hands or is thrown out in the street to the original person registered or back street breeder`s are churning them out without a care of where they end up and who never chip their litters. It is a total waste of time. Dogs are not born bad, Humans determine their fate and that is where the blame should lay. To say all of one specific breed(Or a dog that resembles a certain breed) are Dangerous is just Ludicrous.

Lennox lost his life this Morning, A draconion law that needs to be changed for the safety of everyone`s dog. There are protests going on around the country this Saturday 14th July. These were planned before Lennox was killed by BCC, Hopefully it will help to highlight what is wrong with this law and engage a lot more interest. Lennox will never be forgotton. RIP

Wow, what an enthusiastic recommendation!

Breed Specific legislation can mean that any dog that is the same size and "look" of a banned dog can be seized and sentenced to death. All it takes is a tape measure. The dog hasn`t got to of done anything aggresive or threatening. It cost`s millions in tax payers money every year to take these dogs to private kennels where they are not allowed to see their owners or anyone known to them and there they are kept until their case goes to court. Tax payers are billed for so called "Experts" to be brought in and access them, Cases are adjourned etc etc. Dogs have been kept for Months until a decision is made. This law has been around for 20 years and has be proven to be a complete joke time and time again. It is the responsibility of the person on the other end of the lead to ensure their dog is well balanced and sociable. Deed not Breed says it all and dogs born in the wrong skin have become victims of a law that was brought in because of a knee jerk reaction. Lennox is an American bulldog x Labrador, Victoria Stillwell has offered to take Lennox to the USA but it doesn`t look like BCC will back down. Tonight at 12 is when time runs out for him, Belfast City Council will then by law be allowed to kill him. http://www.ddawatch.co.uk/

My Daughter had the same problem on Thursday and Friday last week. Her 10 Month old Baby had very high temp and was lethargic, When she finally got through she was told there were no appointments and basically if he was that ill she should take him to casualty which was said with a very sarcastic tone!

Very dissapointed with Dulwich Tandoori buffet a couple of weeks ago. Normally fine but they seemed to have changed a few things(maybe a different Chef) Chefs Special and meat curry (which was previously Lamb) tasted a bit strange. Hoping they are back to normal next time we visit :-(

Empty house on corner Elsie Rd/East Dulwich Grove

I can`t see Southwark council doing anything about it. There is a flat up for auction on my road it is definately council as I knew the gentleman who used to live there. Why auction a property when there are so many homeless in the borough? -
Either that or the girl who has run out of electric/Has to get to the hospital etc etc is up to her old tricks again?

My friends cat has gone missing as she is beside herself. Margot needs urgent medical help and has been missing for 2 days. Please could you pass on her poster if you know of anyone in the area? http://i4.photobucket.com/albums/y133/mariauk/412075_10150633851351532_577186531_11056717_113880975_o-1.jpg Margot went missing on Sunday 29th January from Sangley Road, South Norwood SE25. She never goes far and this is completely out of character for her. She is aprox 8 months old, is neutered and microchipped. Short hair tabby cat. She was wearing a stripey blue/green collar with a green tag. Margot suffered an injury to her spine before she came into my care; as a result she is wobbly on her back legs which you may notice if you see her. She also has ongoing bladder problems, and problems passing faeces so needs special care and ongoing medical management. I would really appreciate it if you could keep a close eye out for her and check your gardens in case she is trapped somewhere. I am desperate to get her home. If you have any information please please contact me on 07793 051 361. Thank you.

I would also like to thank everyone involved (against the CPZ)for all their hard work. Much was acheived in a very short space of time and this is a victory for people power. It`s a pity that James and Co couldn`t listen to the many people who voted for them. Another 3 votes lost from this household for anything to do with the Lib Dems. They have behaved disgracefully. -

Well said Bobby P. Those who have never lived in a CPZ zone seem to be wearing very thick Rose coloured glasses. -
