Mscrawthew replied to James Barber's topic in General ED Issues / Gossip
So James, will your "data" be reflective of 9 out 10 answers were no to a cpz? How on earth can one question be classed as a survey? -

James Barber Wrote: ------------------------------------------------------- > Hi MSCrawthew, > It is refreshing to hear someone - by implication > - praise the current maintenance work undertaken > by HA and council working home repairs! I think you need to read that again James, I did at no point praise any maintenance work. Prime example is the Saltash contract that has been absolutely abysmall. The work that has been done in a lot of properties is substandard and they continue without any comeback. This is digressing from the point of the thread so I say a definate NO to a CPZ for a various amount of reasons. -

James Barber Wrote: ------------------------------------------------------- > Hi TE44, > Housing Associations and the council have tens of > thousand of social housing in controlled parking > zones so they must have cracked this one. Less time to do the job in hand so they are rushed and incomplete. Results in secondary calls to the local council at more cost. Private contractors just add the cost of the tickets to the final bill so we still get pay indirectly! -

Your presumption being that everyone will be arou d to move their cars? I take public transport to work and would not either appreciate or want to spend my break running around playing musical parking spaces on a daily basis. Can I ask the opinions if those who are for permits if they have indeed lived in a cpz before and what they deem to be the benefits? -

James you are really trying to make it all sound wonderful. Having previously lived in a cpz I can assure you it has no benefits apart from making Southwark council coffers to swell. For anyone who is under the illusion it will provide a parking space outside their front door it is a fallacy. Keep our roads free for all! Permits are a rip off? We already pay more than enough to park! -

I also have Saltash "working" on my property. Five weeks of Scaffolding = Windows having to be closed if they haven`t been painted shut because of security reasons. Even more draughts than normal because the painter removed the excluders. No natural light so electric bill has gone up.Rotting window frames dug out and left and remaining works i.e pointing, soffets repair, pipe replacement because of damage by the scaffolders etc etc not even looked at. So far, 3 days of painting in 5 weeks? Could the gentleman from Saltash please tell me who I need to contact as the works supervisor is not replying to my messages.

Dog (on dog) Attack in Peckham Rye Park
Mscrawthew replied to Serendipity1's topic in General ED Issues / Gossip
Really sad to hear, hope your dog is recovering well. Again, as usual it`s who is at the other end of the lead that`s the biggest problem. I hope you find the information you need asap. x -
I have complained, having been seen as a patient weeks before I cannot understand why either the nhs or the surgery would take that step. When I was informed by the receptionist she made no mention of there being a major problem either with software or the amount of people it had happened to.

Having has a phone consultation with a doctor at DMC a few weeks ago, I was given a new prescription which I had to chase up. After getting through to a receptionist I was then told the "Health Authority" had removed me from their list. Surely a patient has to be notified beforehand and an explanation given? I would never have known if I hadn`t contacted them today :-(

What's Happening on Crawthew Grove Project?

Did they have to get permission to change the road layout? There seems to be no consideration for anyone at all? -
What's Happening on Crawthew Grove Project?

Do we now have to suffer the massive blue metal shed that has taken up just as much, if not more room then the previous temporary office as well as road restrictions that make the corner of the road even more dangerous than before or is this something completely different? -
Sorry to hear about the incident involving your boyfriend and I hope is ok but I would just like to ask you to consider how you have described a dog that did not attack, maim or even growl at your boyfriend by the sounds of things and certainly didn`t join in when his uncontrolable "owners" decided to attack your boyfriend. All of a sudden it has turned into a pitbull terrier (unproven as most people wouldn`t know a pitbull terrier if they did fall over one) who has been accused of being dangerous when it infact was off lead because of the "type" of owner it had and infact the owners were dangerous and not the dog?

loss of electric Crawthew Grove?

Lucky you! I lived in Grove Lane with a CPZ from 8-6. You must have amazing workmen if they work before or after the restricted hours? I now live in Dulwich and don`t stamp my feet when I can`t park directly outside my house, very rarely do I even have to park in adjoining roads. I really don`t mind walking past a few cars to get home! You didin`t mention what a pain it is to go and purchase/renew your permit either @ ?145 a shot I would want it hand delivered :-)
