  1. Just to be sure, it's for 3 months only (ho ho) starting 24th August, right? Not permanent? Does anyone know what the work is that needs to be done? We're just in the process of buying a place on Marmora and I really don't like the sound of this! Thanks
  2. Thanks everyone! I'll check them all out. Poor little boy has a completely swollen face this morning! This forum is amazing. THANK YOU x
  3. We'll need to take our Spaniel somewhere first thing tomorrow if possible. Does anyone know of somewhere that might see him on a Sunday, please? Thanks!
  4. Just walked past that area and there's water gushing all down the road into the drains while the houses have none. SORT IT OUT, THAMES WATER!!!
  5. And me! And me! I'm a freelance wine writer/presenter working from home with a 20 month old girl at nursery Mon & Weds. I have another girl due in Oct, so work's a bit quiet at the mo! I'd love to meet you all. Sarahew, I'll PM you my email too if that's ok? Thanks, Helena
  6. I've had rubbish reception from Vodpahone on Upland road for the last six mnths. This week has been particularly bad though!
  7. Does anyone know what will happen to it one they have gone? Would be nice to have a good food/wine option up this end of LL!
  8. Yep, Fujiyama in Brixton does excellent sushi and they deliver to SE22 for a ?3 surcharge. Give them plenty of warning though. they can take an hr to deliver!
  9. Hi Everyone, I'm also due with number 2 on October 3rd and would love to meet some new mums and mums-to-be. My little girl will be exactly two when the new one comes. AARGH! Scared. Why don't we arrange an afternoon get together, somewhere baby friendly for those who already have little ones, perhaps? The Actress is usually a a good shout....
  10. Thank you for that :)
  11. Anyone know? Thanks!
  12. Ah. Thank you. I was about to head out!
  13. I hear Bea was doing a session at the Plough (by Dulwich Library) on Sat mornings. Anyone know if this is the case and if so, what time? Thanks!
  14. I went through all of this at Kings, twice with the same baby. It was hugely stressful. My advice would be - if you can afford ?70 - to get it done privately and immediately by Katie Fisher. She's brilliant. http://www.greatvine.com/katherine-fisher
  15. I've had a few things go missing recently too - based on Upland Road. The sorting office on Silvester isn't much help.
  16. T-mobile just isn't cutting it anymore. You'd think that we'd have no problems in Zone 2 these days! Is there a network that's generally thought to be the best to use over here? Thanks for any help!
  17. Thanks for this, Fox. I got them at 6pm last night whilst feeding my baby. He wanted to come in there and then and didn;t quite understand why I wouldn't want some strange man in my house while I was a lone with a baby at night. He was polite though and I did wonder if it was genuine or not. I guess it's always NOT.
  18. Thanks everyone! This advice is really helpful. I'm not going to worry too much about self settling just yet and instead, help her to get used to napping well in the day. We'll persist with final 10pm moses basket put down for the night as she"s getting better at it! At 3 months we'll start being stricter. Happy last days of 2011. X
  19. Wow, and they just went down that young? Well done! I'm not fussed about a routine yet, but I am keen for her to learn how to drift off without me... Do I persevere or just try again next week? I don't want her to have had no naps at all today. Aaargh!
  20. Orlando is great! Orly, Lando, O, Orl,.... any name can be shortened for cuteness. I've just had an Ivy and she's already 'V'
  21. We're told that we need to get the baby to start falling asleep on their own in the crib/basket. When should you start to do this though? My burning question is this: at 8 weeks, is the priority just to get the baby to sleep no matter how, or is it to get her to do it herself no matter how long it takes? She 'touch wood' sleeps well at night from 10.30 onwards. Its the day time naps I'm obsessing with! Is she just too young to do it? Thanks!!!
  22. If you want to know a little more about wine, follow me! @thewinebird www.winebird.co.uk I thank you :)
  23. Thames Water are aware and are now on the case. It may take a few hours though...
  24. Ok - glad you're unaffected. Is anyone else at the top of Lordship Lane having problems?
