Recommendations for a baby class on Monday mornings
beababies replied to Layla's Mum's topic in The Family Room Discussion
Hello, I am very excited to announce that my regular drop in music classes for babies and toddlers will be starting in East Dulwich on October 4th! Thank you very much for all your feedback and support regarding interest, times and venues, it was greatly greatly appreciated! Come sing, dance and play percussion instruments with your baby in a relaxing, sociable, positive atmosphere! Babies and upwards including toddlers and older siblings are welcome so the classes are great for a mix of ages and are sibling friendly. The classes are always drop in, ?5/class and will meet every weekday afternoon except Thursdays as well as Saturday mornings at the Family Natural Health Centre above Soup Dragon at 106 Lordship Lane. Please see the timetable below. Alas Monday mornings were not available but come along Monday afternoons if you're free?! Classes start on Monday October 4th. I'd love to see you there! Monday 2:30-3:30 Tuesday 3:30-4:30 Wednesday 3:30-4:30 Friday 3:30-4:30 Saturday 10-11 All the best, Bea x -

Where's best for baby & toddler (v.active!)?
beababies replied to Gussy's topic in The Family Room Discussion
hiya Fmay, Regarding your message "Do you think your classes would be ok for an active 18month old boy, or perhaps more suited to babies? Timings of lessons are great, very little in avos around here...is that venue the same place as 'Health Matters'?" The classes are great for babies and active 18 month boys alike as the babies learn from the older ones and how the children interact varies by their age. The Family Natural Health Centre is just above Soup Dragon on Lordship Lane (thank you to Molly for confirming that!). Very good to hear that the timings are good! Would love to see you and your active one the week after next! Bea x -

hello, I currently lead a baby music class in West Hampstead for babies up to age three which has times throughout the week and am planning to start a similar regular class in the East Dulwich/Herne Hill area. The classes are for a mix of ages from babies up to age three so are sibling friendly and involve sing alongs, dancing and percussion/instrument playing. The classes are always drop in, ?5/class and would be Monday/Tuesday afternoons and Wednesday/Saturday mornings. Thank you so much for all the feedback so far but I am on hold as I'm struggling to find an appropriate, available venue! If you have any venue suggestions, I would really appreciate hearing them! Ideally I will be starting the classes in the next few weeks and would welcome any further feedback as well regarding interest/need for such classes in the area and what times/days would be best! There seem to be quite a few other baby music classes in East Dulwich/Herne Hill already but they seem to be only once a week, more expensive, age specific or require a term commitment so it appears there may be a need for a class such as mine. Any feedback on a venue or the classes in general would be much appreciated! All the best, Bea xx

Hi Kes, I'm planning to start a baby music class in the area for babies up to age three as soon as possible and the drop in class will meet Monday afternoons since, as you've found, there seems to be a lack of activities at this time! I'm trying to confirm a venue as soon as possible and when I do will post it up on here right right away! All the best, Bea x

what makes teenagers get up ???
beababies replied to womanofdulwich's topic in The Family Room Discussion
oh dear woman of dulwich, i'm thirty and my brother is twenty-seven and we were like this as teenagers and still are exactly the same! my Dad used to get us up by pulling off the duvet covers and singing morning songs while we shivered exposed in our beds, such a terrible way to wake up! like your son, we resist bed at all costs at night and then nothing is nicer than bed in the morning, impossible to get out! it's a real problem, it's made us late to school, late to Uni, late to work. . .the only time I can manage it is when I will absolutely be fired if I don't get out of bed, so for 6am job starts or something! i'd say, go with SteveT's advice and leave him to it, he'll soon be dragging himself out of bed when school's telling him he's not going to graduate if he's absent/late again! i suppose that'll just come back to you though until he's out on his own at Uni! good luck! hello, I teach a baby music class which sounds somewhat similar to fruity tunes in that it's for babies up to age three with their parents and we sing songs, play shakers, dance and play percussion. The class lasts for an hour and I am happy to come and hold the class privately in your home for parties or get togethers. I'm based in Herne Hill so just down the road, please get in touch to chat about times and rates. My party rates are very reasonable and I'm happy to taylor the class to your tastes, doing your daughter's favorite songs! All the best, Bea
