  1. Clip on BBC AE News showingcar sliding backwards down hill, read somewhere that a bus jack knifed at the top by the school? Mad that it wasn't a priority for gritting
  2. Please don't all tar Hermes delivery drivers with same brush........mine is amazing, he even noticed that I m poorly and sometimes sleep in late so said he tried to plan his deliveries for that but later.
  3. AS awheelchair user I find narrowing pavements by leaving bins on them **************************8
  4. Noticed "in Herne Hill" as well. just goes to show mustn't nelieve everything that you read
  5. And I still don't know if peeps with Blue Badges can park near enough to cafe for some of us to walk..... Grrrr no way can I make it from present reserved parking.
  6. Yes, make sure that you take ID.
  7. And the answer is?????????????????????????????? If you read the posts I am not alone in being discrimiated against because of disability!!! ------------------------------------------------------- > Hi Gaby, > I have submitted in a Member's enquiry about this > to ask if eg a short stretch of Straker's road > could be used for disabled parking so that you and > other disabled cafe users can park closer to the > Cafe. > Renata
  8. Marmora Rd House built in 1880. Lived here 30 odd years and 1st time heard of the block being referred to as Crimean Corner was in the Evning Standard a few months ago.
  9. I still don't know if we are going to be able to get our car close enough to Peckham Rye cafe for me to walk to cafe as I could prior to the alterations. As I pointed out in my original email I can't be the only one to find the distance from the new allocated disabled bays too far to acces the cafe from.
  10. Still no answer - Strakers rd still too far......... a Councillor said wd look into it as well but haven't heard anything.
  11. Carpark next to cafe on Peckham Rye Park has now closed............. You said that you wd look into the matter for me, see if could use access rd. Very much upset by fact tht am being made to feel more disabled than I am.
  12. Taking opportunity to gain info about S. residents?
  13. Needs to be local pickup available for those with mobility difficulties.
  14. Asa wheelchair user have given up going as too crowded.
  15. Assuming that cafe has a parking area for deliveries could this maybe be used as a drop off/pick point as well.
  16. Ok so I have a Blue Badge, but have seen frail peeps for whom walking obviously a huge effort using the cafe, and taking ages to get to/from maybe a family member's or friend's car in the present carpark. These usually older people with mobility issues probably don't own a car but an outing to the park is a big occaision-like me they wd never manage from the new carpark Speaking for myself when I am particularly poorly we still try get out of the house, and a quick snack in a nearby place where I can enjoy wide green views and watch kids play is great for my frame of mind.
  17. Any news on this? I cannt be the only person who will not be able to manage the walk from the new carpark.
  18. Maybe under used because like me many might have thought that cd only pick herbs if had participoated in the planting. Was there today and whilst waiting for hubbie to get the wheelchair ramp down in paking spaces for disabled at main entrance I zoomed over to see how the garden was doing, didn't say any signs saying we cd pick a few sprigs. Admittedly was from a distance but hadn't seen any previously either.
  19. Neighbours' (Marmora Rd) alarm went off between 5.30 - p.m. last Sat. Are key-holders so husband went to check house, all looked in order however the next day the back door was found to have been tampered with.
  20. Maybe something to ask the councillors to look in to. One advertises here regularly, I will ask him when I see his name next, cd be worth others doing it as well.
  21. Kids differ, if you want to keep my grand daughter awake just feed her a couple of squares of chocolate. ------------------------------------------------------- > lavender27 Wrote: > -------------------------------------------------- > ----- > > Teddy Bears and Dollies to cuddle while they > are > > away from their families at Christmas. 22. 1. It's not just Barry Road that has leaves. 2. Any idea as to how many people would be needed to keep all the Borough's tree lined roads clear of leaves? 3. In this time of cuts many affecting people with care needs where is the money to clear the leaf sweepers going to come from. 4. Crossing the road involves risk taking yet we still do it every day. 5. As a wheelchair user I find people with their eyes fixed on mobiles more of a hazard.
  23. Barry Rd's pavement are pretty bad as well - not much fun in a wheelchair.
