Has peckham plex gotten any quieter? I stopped going a few years ago because the audiences were so noisy I couldn't enjoy the films. On one memorable occasion a couple behind me were on a first date and talked at full volume throughout the entire film.. i got tired of asking people to be quiet ( largely unsuccessfully ).. I'd love a little cinema in ED that showed mainstream releases too but in a nice art house cinema atmosphere.. ah well, cant have it all..

Long shot but are there any local mixed volley ball teams.?.. i cant find any on the net that don't scare me with talk of leagues and stuff, and they seem to be full of teenagers. I just fancy a bit of competitive fun if you know what I mean..

Problems at/outside east dulwich station
shell replied to Blondie's topic in General ED Issues / Gossip
yep.. just walked through it all. Stabbing sadly. The policeman said it was a gang initiation thing .. " too scared to actually kill him so stabbed him in the arse.. " I asked if he'd be ok and he said " oh yeah fine.. he'll be doing it to someone else next week..". He was quite jolly in an if you didn't laugh you'd cry kind of way.. -

My dog was attacked this morning - near Goose Green
shell replied to Cheese Board's topic in General ED Issues / Gossip
Oh my god this is terrible..can you let the authorities know ? recently goose green is being used by more and more people who dont bother cleaning up after their dogs.. often big trophy dogs..I guess they also dont bother training or restraining the dogs properly either. I've not seen a dog warden on there for months. -

Advise for property purchase (subsidence in ED)

There are loads of buildings on goose green suffering from subsidence ( as a resident of one of them I wish it wasn't the case ) -
Is anywhere local showing the opening ceremony? Blackheath has pulled their screen down and potters fields is showing the games but not the opening..?

Oh gosh.. this fire was in our garden. Its a building of five flats and the garden in being done.. but lots of inherited rubbish was there and it seems the gardeners are burning some of it. Its not dangerous at all and is contained but I'm so sorry its been a pain. I'm afraid the wind may have blown it in inconvenient directions. Its all but finished so please accept our apologies.. we absolutely will not be making a habit of it.

No problems at all with 3.. I've never really understood the bad rep

Hi James, Probably not high up on the agenda but could I make an appeal for 'please close the gate' signs on the gates of goose green. ( and keep the dogs and kiddies safely inside ). I've seen a couple of near misses involving a dog making a bid for freedom into the path of a car.. and only because some people dont bother closing the gates after them( just thoughtlessly not mailciously ) . Similarly the large gates that let the leaf sweeper/lawn mowers in are sometimes left open by the council. Its lovely that nice dogs can run around off their leads... be even more lovely if we all make an effort to keep them safe. -
Wasn't there a burst water main or something ? The day the work began there was water everywhere.. I assumed the disruption was due to that..

Tuesday 9th August - Any trouble affecting East Dulwich?
shell replied to Administrator's topic in General ED Issues / Gossip
Not closed to traffic and apart from some serious scaremongering.. no actual trouble as yet today.( on lordship that is ) -
I'm free too but don't the police need to deal with stuff first.. surely they're crime scenes?

Hello all Well thanks to the power of this lovely forum the package reached its rightful owner today. I could of course have returned to sender but it was clearly a gift and since it had come from Paris I was worried it wouldn't find its way back. Anyway thank you everyone who helped.. warmed the cockles of my heart

Oo well done..i'm not registered either. And i'm nowhere near either, i'm on goose green. It seems so odd that this person from Paris would send a lovely gift to entirely the wrong address.. I guess worst comes to worst I could return to sender but it seems such a shame. Forest hill doesn't have a forum does it..

I have a parcel for Caroline roche-shield that has been delivered to my building but she doesn't live here. It looks like a gift so I'd really like to track her down. Pm me if you are/know her.

Thanks James.. just to clarify, half the glass is still in the frame, what do I do about that? I don't fancy trying to remove it. Also I used the bulk collection recently to get rid of my own rubbish, will this class as mine too and will that mean I can't use it again? -

Hi James, Someone has fly tipped a window and broken glass into the front garden of my communal flats. I contacted the council who won't remove it since it'd on private land. I can't even lift it out of my garden or I am fly tipping. What should i do? It being there is enticing other rubbish dumps to join in.. -
Hiya Did anything come of the singles nights talk? All my friends are bloody married so I'd be well up for something like this - or even meeting some new single pals to drag along to speed dating with me ...

Does anyone know whats happening with the lovely Springers? I noticed it was up for auction a while ago but still seems to be open. It would do so well on the lane - its always seemed a shame more people dont venture the extra 5 mins for it

Hello ocean Me and my flatmate ( who live halfway up Barry rd, mid 30s ) were just saying how much happier we are this end compared to the station end of dulwich. Its lovely and I've always found it to be safe. The number 12 bus is a godsend and the clockhouse does a cracking pub quiz. The cheapest cafe in Dulwich is at the other end of Barry rd in the little church. As is the Plough which is getting better and better - Sundays are great - Good food,a jazz musician and a lovely atmosphere. And as Mr Ben mentioned, the Gowlett is a winner. You have made an excellent choice.
