  1. Can anyone suggest a good view point that I could take parents to? Baring in mind they're not in the best of health so travelling too far, traipsing up too steep a hill not great. Dawsons heights park? I'm assuming horniman park will be closed? Any suggestions welcome please..
  2. http://www.eastdulwichforum.co.uk/forum/read.php?5,1466275,1515076#msg-1515076 how about this thread?
  3. Mum's pretty anti meds and wants to do as much as she is able .. thinking thats the best medicine! she's very excited to get here ( in june hopefully ) so we shall be giving everything a go. But you're right .. also nice just to have good companionship. Not easy to make new friends at 60 but I reckon if you can do it anywhere, East Dul is a good place to start! ( fingers crossed )
  4. Thank you so much all. Mum hopefully arriving in june so we will get onto all this stuff. And Sue we'll definitely pay a visit to the goose is out.
  5. I placed this in another section but thought it worth putting it on here too. My mum is making the big move here from up north and I'm keen to make life as fun as possible for her. She is only 60 but has some health issues so the usual suggestions for activities often aren't possible. I'm looking firstly for a GP good at dealing with emphysema .. hopefully one that will prescribe more holistically ( stress management, supervised exercise etc ) rather than pump her full of drugs that make her feel awful. And secondly for social activities. Edanna told me about a singing group for people with COPD which is brilliant. i suppose I'm looking for friendly non judgemental environments .. she loves a bit of live music too so I was wondering if The Goose is Out might be good. Any suggestions would be so appreciated.
  6. Thanks so much everyone thats put my mind at rest. Will take my mum to do some viewings and see how we go!

  19. This is a bit tenuous but the guy who runs highvibe opposite I know was once in contact with them about moving there. You could ask him.

  22. I gave a plug for these guys a year ago when they did a load of work for our building .. they have this week been back to lay some artificial turf and do some fencing and various bits and bobs in my personal section. They are so so brilliant I cant say enough about them .. I wont bang on about details but if you want to pop round and see their work you are welcome.. highly recommended.
  23. if you have a car then herne hill practice is great.. although i think maybe I'm only allowed to be registered there because I used to live closer. I really should move but am not overly confident of finding a good one local.
  24. Annie whats the situation with the films you are able to show at EDT .. will you ever be able to show new releases?
