  1. Anybody know what happened to Janis Hendrickson Skin Care on Upland Road (North Cross Road end)? Used to go there but noticed shop now completely empty and no sign on the door. Sure I saw her a few weeks ago.
  2. Good for you Laura. I have been buying your clothes for over 6 years (pregnancy and for children). Love to see your range of clothes now go to slightly older sizes - my oldest is now 7 (although wearing 8yr old clothes - very tall)and youngest 2. Any change of expanding? I for one would support an older children's clothes range.
  3. I know we all like to think we have an element of choice in which school our children attend but the bottom line is they will probably only get into the school that is closest to where you live (or at which they have siblings). What we all need to do is make the most of that school and support it's endeavours to achieve the best education for our children.
  4. Also hear them, kept me awake for some time. We live behind Barry Road, about mid-way down. They sounded like they were right overhead but was too sleepy to look out of the window. Does anyone know what happened?

  6. Rob, I do buy a "real newspaper" every day but also pick up a free paper just to catch up on what the uneducated little people are reading! I think the opinions of anyone who would like to "void" another person's opnion simply because of what they chose to read should be void.
  7. There is a building advertised as an "old dairy" in Landells Road, close to the intersection with Underhill Road.
  8. ED appears in a feature in tonight's London Lite about living in London "villages". No mention of Dulwich Village - Ha! Sadly our only celebrity residents are two who don't technically live in ED - Jo Brand and James Nesbitt. There goes the neighbourhood!
  9. Went into Mrs Robinson for first time today. Absolutely lovely clothes but all teeny sizes. I am by no means large but am curvy and I struggled to find anything. Money was burning my pocket but there was absolutely nothing. Size 16 is the average size for a British woman. Shouldn't we all be able to buy beautiful clothes!
  10. Dulwich Sports Club is holding a display on Saturday night. Not sure what time though as I was driving past the sign. Anyone know?
  11. Halloween is a very big occassion for my 6 year old. We only go to houses of people we have arranged to visit beforehand but always have sweets and a pumpkin in the window for any other local children who wanted to call by. Never had any problems and are usually left with more sweets than we give out.
  12. Zenoria mulsant is a genus which includes parasitic flies. Does this help?
  13. I've seen several near misses at Heber. Absolutely frightens me, especially when it is raining and visibility of drivers is not always at its best. Lets hope we can get something done about it.
  14. Thanks Frisco! Thought is was a term in common use. I certainly did mean political colour. It helps to be a little politically savy if you are going to use political chanels to force change. Remember - most politicians (and I am happy to offer exceptions to this rule) are not strictly in it for "the people". It takes a certain amount of ego to do the job (I know, I worked in the House of Commons for several years).
  15. Cllr Thomas, I was sure this thread was about local councillors- the thread about Tessa is elsewhere! I do seem to remember the previous elected representatives walking up and down the streets of ED several times a year to ask if there were any local issues we were concerned about. Prior to the election I couldn't get you off my doorstep - haven't seen you at all since. I will vote for the cllr who will deliver effective local services - whatever their colour.
  16. Stunk of wee! Had some antenatal classes there in late 1990s- had to leave because of odour and pregnancy olfactory sensitivity!
  17. Where is the Wintergreen fair. Would love my free bag.
  18. Polly, so sorry to hear of burgulary. We were burgled a few months ago. All asleep upstairs at the time, which is a bit scary. Stair gates probably saved us them coming upstairs. They got in because we had not deadlocked the front door (my fear of fire)and thankfully only stole mobile phones and car keys - three Mercedes parked out the front - two very expensive ones and our A class, they probably thought they had hit the jackpot but alas only got our 6 year old cheap version. Apparently used it to empty two other houses that night. No longer fear fires and deadlock door every night.
