  1. Many residents on Lyndhurst Grove and the surrounding streets are very concerned about the levels of traffic and pollution on the road, caused by the diversion of traffic from Camberwell Grove, because of the closed railway bridge. We have been petitioning for the bridge to be opened - but the people on Camberwell Grove are campaigning for it to remain closed. A number of us have been in conversation with Southwark Council, and we have said that the increased traffic on Lyndhurst Grove is extremely dangerous for parents taking their children to school, and most days there is a stand off, and huge arguments as due to all the parked cars the road doesn't allow for two-way traffic. It's also affecting the wider area of Bellenden Road and adjacent streets as all the traffic is funnelled down one route. There is a meeting on September 20 to get local people?s thoughts and we want to spread the word. A high attendance is needed at the meeting to prevent the bridge being closed for ever. All the information is here. http://www.2.southwark.gov.uk/info/200083/roadworks_and_highway_improvements/585/bridges_subways_and_walls/2

I'm so glad the Plex is my local and not the Ritzy. ?4.99 a ticket, as opposed to ?11.50, it's a no-brainer. Also some of the Ritzy screens are ridiculously tiny, the queuing system chaotic, I hardly ever go there anymore. Long may the Plex remain, one of the last few independently owned cinemas in London
  3. I hate the look of the refurbishment. All that money spent, and no taste it's really depressing. They could have at least chosen a better colour for the towers. The station used to look very elegant, it's made it ugly. And ironic that it gives everyone better access when we no longer have the south London line (I know an old story, but still...)
  4. I am very dismayed by the extremely ugly and unessential' improvement works to create a step-free route' at Denmark Hill station - which has also resulted in the removal of trees, vegetation etc - not exactly great for the environment. It is a small, historic station, that will be completely ruined by this addition. And I dread to think what the cost of this is to us the taxpayer. Meanwhile they are cutting the South London Line route from Denmark Hill to Victoria/London Bridge - you have to ask where is Network Rail's sense of priority?
