  1. I have! Very regular down Melbourne grove! I saw three in one night a few months back.
  2. I had dr Brennan at dmc before she went on maternity leave - excellent.
  3. Generally takes 20 to 30 minutes of constant redialling, starting at 8am. Ace system!!! (having said that, I've had good experiences with the GP's when I do get an appointment).
  4. I can highly recommend flea traps. https://www.google.co.uk/search?q=flea+trap&sugexp=chrome,mod=6&sourceid=chrome&ie=UTF-8 There are different ones to get. I just use a simple touch LED light (battery, not plugged in) suspended over a low rimmed plate of water. When we've just had an outbreak, it works so well! Also, giving the cats the flea injection from the vet, using Advocate as well, plus regular spraying/vacuuming, does the trick nicely.
  5. Agreed. Generally annoying. Are they necessary? Can they just be moved out of the way or do shops have the right to put them there?
  6. The chips from Fish, Chips and More are best in East Dulwich, IMHO.
  7. Now school kids are off, it is making my journey a lot better!
  8. Page 30, section 7.21 of http://assets.dft.gov.uk/consultations/dft-2012-23/consultation-thameslink.pdf seems to be the key part. I see so many fellow commuters from E.D go from D-Hill to City and Farringdon, so have to change at Blackfriars would be a big annoyance for a lot of people.
  9. Of course, ED does have a few cinema things going on, such as the clockhouse pub and also the back of that colourful paint shop is going to do some screenings. But a proper cinema would be ace. One less reason to venture beyond wonderful E.D.
  10. I love walking past this every day (tu) :))
  11. Would love to get rid of Foxtons (regardless) and replace it with a cinema. I doubt they're going out of business any time soon, but the Kwik-Fit and the Jewsons (near the station, big-ish buildings) would be good sites.
  12. One of the things I love about East Dulwich and the surrounding area is all the groups and societies that are going on. I think it makes the area so interesting and connected, more than just a place where people sleep and shop - it is a place where people actually live and enjoy life. (I say this as someone coming from somewhere where this was definitely not the case). I know that currently these are covered by a mixture of "what's going on" and the general forum... ...but a section of the forum that has a topic for each of the groups that are currently active in our catchment area would be great. It would put in one simple place a view of all the groups so that anyone new to the area or looking for a group to join could easily find it. I imagine it would also encourage other people to start up groups for particular activities. It would be distinct from events, which specify something happening on a particular day. And there would only be one topic allowed per group. (sorry if this isn't the right place for it, or if it is a terrible idea!)
  13. Good to hear!
  14. I had that same situation last year - they delivered a day late. It was there when I got home.
  15. I was thinking the same, but when passing their today they were working at laying the path from the main road to the platform.
  16. Check out the "What's going on" section of the forum. Try this thread: http://www.eastdulwichforum.co.uk/forum/read.php?6,674819,page=18
  17. I watch far too many movies, yet never enough. Keep me posted!
  18. We get most things, but the postal DVD rental service? Forget it! For some reason, they just aren't getting through to us.
  19. I don't know if it is anything to do with this: http://i51.tinypic.com/2gv1lq1.jpg I went to catch the bus at the Heber Road bus stop at 6pm...only to see a bin or some kind of metal container on fire! Firemen arrived a few seconds later...although don't know why that would result in the road being closed 4 hours later.
  20. I had seriously long delays for some rental dvds to arrive, but they did turn up eventually. Certainly seems slower post around here though, generally.
  21. There was dog mess left outside our place on Heber Road yesterday.
  22. New to the area so hope you can help... I want to watch Liverpool (yay) vs. Arsenal (not so yay) in ED on Sunday, preferably in 3D (curious about it). Any good suggestions? James
