Shame to lose it, but I've only been a couple of times. Thin layout makes it awkward, and it is a bit on the premium side. Maybe could be reworked as a cafe. Or maybe another gelati, because judging by Oddono's being permanently busy no matter the time of day, E.D. has clearly got gelatomania!

This would be so awesome. I would never leave E.D. It would be opposite Oddono's and Luca's.

I hears the old ticket hall was being turned into a cafe/waiting area. They could do with toilets there too.

There is a gap in the market in E.D. for a family/toddler friendly cafe. But there isn't a lot of space. I'd recommend that whoever ends up with The Mag uses that big restaurant space during the day as a cafe type area. Lots of space, near lots of family homes and also Heber School. Sure, switch back to being a pub or restaurant in the evening, but during weekdays, a lot of business could be generated. Probably some licensing reason why it can't happen, but still...

Is anyone aware of a Dulwich (or East Dulwich) cake recipe? There is a recipe for Dulwich Buns http://uktv.co.uk/food/recipe/aid/517000 but as far as I can tell, we have no such thing as an official Dulwich Cake recipe. If there isn't one, what do you think it would be like? (Most likely a cup-cake!) With all the bakers in the area, maybe we could evan have a battle of the cakes to determine it! Yes, I like cake. And East Dulwich.

Don't think it is a B&Js. Possibly Haagen Dazs. Sally mentioned to me that the ice cream company had a branch in Hampstead. Might be a Marine Ices or Oddono. Can't see it working there though...
