  1. Is it possible to go to the delivery office and collect mail that is still pending delivery?
  2. Hi - there are often people trying to give things away for free on the forum, which is great. To help reduce waste, and to connect people to a broader audience for those looking to give away things, can I recommend pinning apps like Olio (https://olioex.com/) Really good! Many thanks
  3. Been with 306 for 10years after realising how poor DMC is. Very happy to have had consistent, quality and caring treatment.
  4. Hi - is there anywhere local that does repair for glasses? The arm on a pair of mine has broken.
  5. I'm giving a shout-out to Jhakas (https://jhakaas.co.uk) for a really outstanding Indian meal today. Based on Brockley Rise and deliver to East Dulwich. Best way I can describe it is like Dishoom, but much better. Not the cheapest, but not too pricey either. Very good £ to flavour ratio! Yumyumyum
  6. Btw not saying it is aliens, just some drone or something but it was there hovering for at least ten minutes
  7. Anyone know what that object is floating in the sky at the moment? Somewhere over Walworth maybe?
  8. So glad I listened to these recommendations as James was an absolute star helping us move our flat. Punctual, good communication, good price and an absolutely lovely person.
  9. Hi - Often there are lots of things for sale on the family classifieds that I imagine don't get sold. Could a post be pinned at the top with suggestions of what to do with unsold items - such as the new St Christopher's charity shop on Lordship Lane specifically for children, or donating to Albrighton centre. The same could be done for the general classifieds (where to donate furniture, electronic goods etc), and also advice on services like Shiply which are very useful for moving larger items like sofas.
  10. Does anyone know why people let off fireworks weeks before bonfire night and Diwali? Every year it seems we enter a period of a month or so of fireworks every single night, which is very stressful as a parent and a pet owner.
  11. Another recommendation for Ben who popped over on a Saturday and sorted out a long running issue I had with my lights, with ease. Would use Ben again. Good communication too!
  12. Hi all, just heard that there is a stubborn virus (that isn't Covid) circulating amongst the kids in the area. Our little one has had it for a couple weeks. Hopefully it'll pass soon. Just to reiterate, we know it isn't Covid! Just wondered if anyone else is seeing this amongst their kids. Thanks!
  13. Old Spike Roastery in Peckham is good too. https://oldspikeroastery.com/
  14. I live round this way too and it seems like every other house has scaffold and a skip at the moment. Definitely seen a few builders working deep in to the weekends. Not cool. siousxiesue Wrote: ------------------------------------------------------- > Is there any prohibition on works (not DIY > definitely) on a Sunday? > > This was before 8am, I'm in the Playfield/Colwell > Road area.
  15. @niall surely have to call Deep Purple if it is smoke on the water... 🙃
  16. Conveniently located shop that doesn't feel the need to emphasize making customers feel welcome. Often find I can get a better price at Shauns or the Plough DIY.
  17. I can hear it too. Like some jazz jam? Not good.
  18. Is it just coincidence that both your names end in 'jade'? Genuine question.
  19. Busiest between 12 and 6

  23. Albrighton centre too, I think. Also, clothes donation banks are scattered around. One on Dog Kennel Hill estate, one up by The Plough, one up by the newsagent near Chi-Chi Ra-Ra.
  24. Spotted Dulwich Tandoori on TV last night. I was watching the very amusing "Pulling" on BBC iPlayer (by the creator of the equally excellent 'Catastrophe' and there is a scene inside what is now Signoria(?) With Dulwich Tandoori in the background. Pulling, Series 2: Episode 6: www.bbc.co.uk/iplayer/episode/b00b3zjm via @bbciplayer
  25. And yet despite this terrible service, the share price is well up on 6 months ago, a month ago...I bet some very nice bonuses for the executives too. I wonder how much money of the Royal Mail, sold off cheap, has gone from providing service to providing "profit"?
