On Wednesday, 31 March at Isleworth Crown Court, Mohamed Kolokoh 18 (23.02.2003) of Elephant and Castle, SE1 was sentenced to 13 years imprisonment, to serve eight in custody and five on license, for the manslaughter of Francois Kablan. ? A 16-year-old from Lambeth was also sentenced to 13 years imprisonment for manslaughter with the same conditions at Isleworth Crown Court, but who cannot be named due to reporting restrictions. ? This follows a guilty verdict on Wednesday, 3 February at Isleworth Crown Court. Francois, who lived in SE16, was fatally stabbed on Wednesday 13 May, 2020 in Dover Street SE1. ? Police were called at around 17.30hrs to reports of a number of males fighting near the location. London Ambulance Service and London's Air Ambulance attended. Francois was pronounced dead at the scene. A post mortem held two days later gave cause of death as a stab wound to the chest. ? An investigation was launched by detectives from the Homicide and Specialist Crime Command, led by Detective Chief Inspector Kate Kieran. The two defendants were arrested near to the scene. The court heard how Francois and his friend became involved in an altercation with the two defendants which quickly escalated. ? DCI Kieran said: ?My thoughts go out today to the family and friends of Francois, whose life was needlessly lost far too soon. Whatever instigated this dispute between the two groups quickly led to a situation in which the two defendants ? who were both armed with knives - were not prepared to back down. Rather they decided to engage, leading to the most tragic of outcomes. It is clear to me that their intention was to cause at least serious harm to Francois, proving them to be dangerous offenders who have no place on our streets? ? "The result today reflects the seriousness of knife crime and the impact that this has on the victims, their families and their communities.?I hope that today's verdict can offer them some of the closure that they deserve whilst removing two dangerous criminals from the streets of London? ? ?Tackling violent crime in communities across London is the Met?s top priority. We are working incredibly hard to take weapons off the street, engage and reassure the public, and keep our communities safe.? ? 13. NB the message was written this morning hence the salutation ? Good morning, ? I'm shocked and deeply disturbed to have to share with you the news that we have arrested a man in connection with the disappearance of Sarah Everard.? This man is a serving Metropolitan Police Officer and I am sure you will share our utter shock at this development.? I can confirm he is not an officer based in Southwark or Lambeth Boroughs in our own Central South Basic Command Unit. The arrest took place at an address in Kent. He has been taken into custody at a London police station where he remains. A woman has also been arrested at the same location on suspicion of assisting an offender. She has also been taken into custody at a London police station.? Our teams have been working around the clock and our priority remains to find Sarah.? This is still a very active inquiry that is developing extremely quickly and where we continue to follow the evidence. Understandably there is significant public interest, however, it is crucial that any future proceedings are not jeopardised by the unauthorised release of information about the case. We are not therefore able to identity of the officer arrested and this is why I am unable to make further comment at this time. ? We are in constant contact with the enquiry team and will update you regularly with developments.? Acting Chief Superintendent Kris Wright will be instigating a wider partnership meeting with the Lambeth Local Authority and Independent Advisory Group to discuss developments and to understand the wider implications of what we know so far with our strategic partners. There has been an overwhelming response from members of the public, and we urge anyone with relevant information to come forward, no matter how insignificant it may seem. Call the Incident Room on 0208 785 8244. I have also taken the step of setting up a locally based Neighbourhood Policing Contact Desk, staffed week days from 9am - 5pm by our local Neighbourhood policing team, who know Lambeth and our communities well.? These officers can be contacted if you are able to share any new community concerns, tensions or issues you might identify locally surrounding Sarah?s disappearance.? The following number and email should only be used to tell us about wider community concerns you might have, or tensions which you feel able to share with us, rather than information relating to the investigation which should be directed to the Incident Room.? This number should not be used to report emergencies. ? email us at;??????? [email protected] call us on;?????????? 07552 662 621 ? ? I will write again when I have further information for you. ? AS ? Central South Briefing note Two new images of Sarah Everard have been released as police continue their search for the missing 33-year-old One of the images shows Sarah wearing the same coat she was seen in on the night she went missing. Another has been released as officers continue to ask the public to check any CCTV they may have in the area, and to come forward with any information if they were in the area from 21:30hrs. Over 120 calls have so far been received from members of the public; information from which is currently being assessed by officers as part of their extensive enquiries. The investigation continues at pace, with 750 homes in the area visited; a wealth of CCTV recordings being examined; and searches of open spaces ongoing. Detective Chief Inspector Katherine Goodwin said:??We?ve released two new images of Sarah as we continue to search for her. Please take a look at them and consider if you saw her on the night she went missing. I am interested in hearing from people who may have been in the area from 21:30hrs onward. ?We have seen an overwhelming response from the public not only in terms of information that has come into us; but also how social media is being used to share the appeals far and wide. I would like to thank everyone for the support they have provided and it is clear that everyone wants to help us to find Sarah safe and well. ?We have seized a number of CCTV recordings but we know that there are likely to be many more out there. Please, even if you?re not sure, check your doorbell or CCTV footage just in case it holds a clue. I?m also asking delivery drivers or anyone with dashcam footage who would have been in the Poynders Road area at approximately 21:30hrs on Wednesday to come forward. ?We have committed significant resources to this investigation, with assistance coming from across the Met. I want to remain clear that at this time we have no information to suggest that Sarah has come to any harm and we retain an open mind as to the circumstances. We share the wish of her family and friends to have her back safely with her loved ones.? Sarah had been at a friend's house in Clapham on the evening of Wednesday, 3 March. At approximately 21:00hrs she left the property in Leathwaite Road through a back gate onto the A205 South Circular and began walking to her home address in Brixton. She is thought to have walked across Clapham Common and was expected to arrive home approximately 50 minutes later. It is unclear if she returned to her home address. She has not been seen or heard from since. At around 21:30hrs on Wednesday, 3 March she was spotted on CCTV walking alone on the A205 Poynders Road, from the junction with Cavendish Road, in the direction of Tulse Hill. The investigation continues to be treated as a missing person's enquiry but due to its complex nature and concerns for Sarah's welfare, it is being led by the Met's Specialist Crime Command. Anyone who has seen Sarah or who has information that may assist the investigation should call the Incident Room on 0208 785 8244. Information can also be provided to detectives using the?Major Incident Portal?or by calling Crimestoppers, anonymously, on 0800 555 111. Superintendent Kris Wright, from the Met?s Central South Area Command Unit which covers the Clapham area, said: ?I know that Sarah?s disappearance is weighing heavily on people?s minds and the local community is, of course, concerned or may even feel worried. I want to reassure residents that I understand their feelings, but want to reiterate that a significant effort by local and specialist officers is underway. ?I want them to know that they can expect to see more local police officers on patrol in the area as we continue to help try to find Sarah and talk with the community. If you want to talk to them about any concerns you have, please do chat to them. We are here to listen and we genuinely want to help you if you have any concerns.? AS ? Central South Briefing note Three teenagers have been jailed in relation to the fatal stabbing of Clinton Evbota in Camberwell in October 2019. Rio Williams, 19 (08.09.01), of Stockwell and Carlos Roachford, 18 [21.03.02] of Stockwell, were both found guilty of murder after a trial at Woolwich Crown Court in December. On Friday, 29 January they were sentenced to 19 years and 18 years respectively. A 16-year-old boy who was convicted of manslaughter was jailed for six years. Police were called at 20:21hrs on Thursday, 10 October 2019 to a stabbing on the Brandon Estate on Grimsel Path, SE5. Officers attended and found 18-year-old, Clinton Evbota suffering stab injuries. He was pronounced dead at the scene. A post-mortem examination gave cause of death as multiple stab wounds. Clinton had lived on the Brandon Estate but had moved away to Kent with his family. However he continued to return to the location to see friends. On the night of the murder, Williams and Roachford had congregated with the 16-year-old and more associates. Clinton had come to the area to see friends when he was spotted and the group gave chase. The court heard witnesses describe seeing Clinton pursued by a group of knife-wielding men before he was fatally attacked. Clinton was stabbed at least once but continued to run and tried to climb a tree in a desperate bid to escape, but he was pulled down and attacked by the group, who then fled the scene. The court heard witnesses describe them laughing and smiling as they ran off, members of the public came to Clinton's aid and called police and paramedics as he lay dying. An investigation was launched by detectives from the Met's Specialist Crime Command, who identified those responsible. It has not been fully established as to why Clinton was targeted. The Judge awarded a commendation to the Met's Detective Constable Gibson, who spent hundreds of hours painstakingly studying CCTV footage to identify those responsible. Detective Chief Inspector Mick Norman, lead investigator said: "Clinton Evbota's last moments were something no person should have to suffer. He was outnumbered and chased by a group who attacked him without mercy. Their actions were wicked and cowardly in the extreme. "Clinton's family have endured so much throughout this trial. No sentence can ever absolve the pain of losing a loved one who had so much of his life to live, but I hope they can take some comfort in knowing that we have done all that we possibly could to get justice for them. "I am proud of the efforts of my team, who have put everything into investigation. They have worked above and beyond to secure these convictions and significant sentencings. Detective Constable Gibson is especially deserving of praise for his efforts." Giovanni Bennett [12.09.02] of Lambeth, SE11, was found not guilty of murder and possession of an offensive weapon. A 16-year-old from Camberwell, Calvin Lopoua, 18 [07.02.02] of Leigham Avenue, SW16 and A 17-year-old boy were all found not guilty of murder but guilty of possession of an offensive weapon. They were sentenced to rehabilitation and supervision orders. A 14-year-old boy arrested on suspicion of murder was released with no further action.
