Date & Time: 20th August 2023 0059 CAD Number: 472/20AUG23 Incident Type: GBH/Stabbing Location: Burgess Park, SE5 Incident Details: Dear Partners: An investigation is underway after reports of a large scale fight at Burgess Park, Southwark at 0059 hours on the 20th August 2023. Officers attended and found a man suffering a laceration wound. As officers attempted to arrest a male in connection to this incident he was assaulted by members of the public and sustained a head injury. Both men were taken to Kings College Hospital where their injuries have been assessed as not life threatening or life changing. One of the men was subsequently arrested in connection to the incident. Local officers will be in Burgess Park today to provide reassurance to the local community. Anyone with concerns is encouraged to speak with them. The Met’s Directorate of Professional Standards have been informed due to police contact with the man injured and the matter has been referred to the IOPC. Date & Time: 29/07/2023 – 2359hrs CAD Number: 8821/29Jul23 Incident Type: Stabbing Location: Aberfeldy House, Brandon Estate SE5 Incident Details: Dear Partners, An investigation is under way following an incident in Walworth where four victims received stab wounds. One victim was stabbed to the chest, one victim to the head and hand, one to the arm and one to the buttocks. Police were called at 23:59hrs on Saturday the 29th July, to reports of a fight where knives were seen in Brandon Estate near Aberfeldy House SE5. Enquiries into the circumstances are ongoing and there has been one arrest. The crime scene is in place. The investigation is being led by officers from AS BCU. Central South BCU Partner Message Southwark Date & Time: 7th May 2023 1813hrs CAD Number: 5646 Incident Type: Firearms discharge/Road Traffic Collision Location: Ivanhoe Road/Lyndhurst Way Incident Details: Dear Partners, Police were initially called by members of the public to a firearm being discharged on Ivanhoe Road SE5 following an altercation between 2 men on a moped and a white BMW car. The BMW left the scene before colliding with further vehicles on Lyndhurst Way. Police and the London Ambulance Service attended the incident and 2 men were taken to a local hospital. One of the men suffered a gunshot wound to the leg and another occupant was taken to hospital with injuries consistent with a collision. Neither of their injuries have been deemed life changing or life threatening. The incident is being investigated by officers from the MPS Trident investigation team. Central South BCU Partner Message Southwark Date & Time: 28th April 12:55hrs CAD Number: 3263 Incident Type: Stabbing Location: Rye Lane SE15 Incident Details: Dear Partners, Police were called at 12:57hrs on Friday, 28 April to reports of a stabbing in Rye Lane, SE15. Officers and the London Ambulance Service responded and found a man suffering a stab injury. He was taken to hospital where his injuries were declared neither life threatening nor life changing and he has since been discharged. A crime scene was set up while initial enquiries were being undertaken but this has since been closed. A man has been arrested on suspicion of possession of an offensive weapons and causing grievous bodily harm with intent. The ongoing investigation is being led by detectives from the Central South Criminal Investigation Department. Date & Time: 19th April 5:30pm Incident Type: Fall from Height Location: Browning Street SE17 Dear Partners, Police were called by members of the public to an address in Browning Street SE17 to a man threatening to jump from a window. Officers on scene engaged with the man from outside the venue. Negotiators along with other specialist units were en route but sadly the man fell before they arrived. First Aid was immediately administered with London Ambulance Service in attendance. The man remains in hospital with a life threatening head injury. Police remain at the venue and in line with protocol following a serious injury after police contact the matter has been referred to the Department of Professional Standards. Officers from Central South Command Unit attended the scene along with colleagues from British Transport Police to support London Fire Brigade. Currently there are no injuries reported but a number of road closures remain in place with some disruption to local roads and rail links between London Bridge and Waterloo East stations. The investigation is being coordinated by British Transport Police. A search of the surrounding area was conducted but no trace of the victim was found. ? At 10:59hrs a man, aged 40s, self-presented at a south London hospital suffering from a knife injury. His injuries were deemed not life threatening or life changing. ? A man has been arrested and a crime scene remains in place. ?
