  1. Harris and Kingsdale both have banding tests but charter don't
  2. Well the catchment shifted to the north of the borough last year with the succesful appeal on the greendale cut through so I'm sure we will find the school demographic changing to be more in line with the community demographic so its a moot point
  3. Can recommend Red Nose Readers. http://www.thebookpeople.co.uk/webapp/wcs/stores/servlet/qs_product_tbp?storeId=10001&catalogId=10051&langId=100&productId=218624 Not a reading scheme, but a great series of books to read together
  4. Charter is an excellent school with a strong reputation but its FSM level seems quite low comparatively although clearly subject to change year on year
  5. 100%? What do you mean by that, the usual measure is 5 A to C grades including English and maths and Charter were proudly announcing their 72% There are very good local secondaries I am often surprised at those who select an hours journey for their children, still its up to the individual I suppose
  6. Isn't it door to door and not crow flies
  7. G&T is no longer a nationally required measure (mainly because it was a completely bunkum salve to be honest) - some maintain it as a register but I have never seen the point as all students should have individual learning plans However you are right to question whether your child will be stretched and that should certainly happen at any good secondary - being set with children of similar or higher ability can makes a big difference to some who have always been at the top. If you have a bright child then secondary can be a far better environment as they are in a bigger pool and possibly no longer than the brightest in their class nor will they find the work as easy s they will be taught by subject specialists with specialist knowledge, If your child has a talent in sport or maths, music or performing arts then specific schools do have a reputation for being good or offering scholarships. If you have a truly gifted child - a child who is years ahead (in NC levels we would be talking considerably higher than a level 5 or 6 child at primary) then I'm not actually sure any secondary school is particularly well equipped for that if I'm honest
  8. She can go front to back from the back
  9. If she is toilet trained she should be capable of wiping her own bottom so now is the time to be teaching her in my opinion Get toilet wipes and teach her this independent skill I'm sure you can get tips on how to do it if you want If not then she isn't ready for pre-school - that's not to say they won't help if necessary, all little ones have accidents
  10. So can you elaborate on what training and qualifications you have in this area?
  11. You're going back? I gave up on that please years ago when the stylists held a conversation over my head about what they were doing that weekend - so very rude!
  12. "Sorry we don't do door to door" while closing the door with a smile Seems to work
  13. Kingsdale should be proud of its results. I would imagine they would be closer to 65% A* - C inc English and Maths than 60 (as 60 would be in 3 in 5 not 2 out of 3) I'm particularly delighted with the science And a third of year 10s already at 5 A*-C inc Eng and Maths is intriguing
  14. Have you contacted more schools?
  15. Again? Brilliant for you though. I love Your pub and hope you make the cut
  16. Have they approached their own bank about a loan using their savings as guarantee?
  17. Administrator Wrote: ------------------------------------------------------- > Kingsdale, I suggest you publish what you said to > me. I'm not your communication channel. All ears I have to say that Kingsdale has the worst PR and media strategy (or advice)of any company I have ever encountered, including banks and lawyers. Seriously though, whoever decides your media approach, online and press, needs to stop and somebody who has integrity and an ability to do the job needs to take over. For a school with so much to offer you are really doing yourself no favours. (Ex marketing director, current data manager)
  18. I am surprised that you would consider schools like wilsons to be commutable with over an hour on public transport each way. Still it is hardly surprising that selective schools do so well
  19. It's hardly ominous silence, many schools, including mine, have not released stats on website yet
  20. My son has a Stompa high sleeper with desk and guest bed underneath it nd when he feels like it he pulls out the bottom bed and sleeps on that instead I think 4 is too young though and to be honest they have to want to sleep in one. My daughter simply doesn't want one and likes her normal bed. At the moment the house is in upheaval and he will be moving rooms in a couple of months and has asked for a double bed instead (at the grand old age of 12)
  21. I find them very expensive for things that aren't insured so I moved back to lordship lane
  22. If you call southwark they will sort it for you
  23. Loving your work aprovocateur
