  1. I have an Uppababy Cruz and I love it! It?s really easy to manoeuvre and the bassinet was always faff-free to attach to the frame and remove again (you can do it one-handed and in fact our baby preferred sleeping in it rather than his wicker basket). The basket at the bottom is really roomy and handy for big shops. Many mums I?ve met have said they regretted not having this pram after trying it and seeing the bottom basket. I?ve found it easy to steer around parks too. We went to John Lewis on Oxford Street to try all the prams. I think it?s quite a personal choice and it?s what feels comfortable for you and suits your own needs. Good luck!
  2. I spoke to one of the workers and he said the lease had come up and the landlord increased the rent by ?30k. Not sure if that?s for a three year or five year lease but it?s obviously unsustainable for the business. Also heard the increase affects the flats upstairs from Aneto and the tenants may have to move out. Apparently it?ll be open intermittently for the next few weeks and closing at the earlier time of 4pm. It?s a real shame tbh as it was a handy place to take your little one, with easy access for prams and a good place to meet other mums.
  3. Think Aneto is closing soon sadly. /forum/read.php?5,2054073
  4. Does anyone have any personal experience of this nursery? Formerly known as Le Nid) as have been offered a place. Thanks in advance.
  5. Done the survey. I liked the ad - based on its content, I think you could consider adding some questions about diversity, gender, whether the participant is a parent and how much of a sports fan they are/which sport they support. Also brought to mind the film What Women Want: Good luck with your course Calum!
  6. Hi there. Does anyone have any personal experience of either of these nurseries? Please PM me if you do. Thanks, Kate.
  7. I know I?m a little late to the party. My little one is just over seven months now and I?m feeling a bit bored - especially now it?s lovely weather. Our NCT class never shared phone numbers, so consequently feeling a bit lonely and very envious of NCT groups that do enjoy that support network. Would love to know if you guys meet as it would be great to make friends with mums who have babies of a similar age. :)
  8. I am not surprised by this at all. I had my baby in September and had to beg staff a number of times for my sheets to be changed daily and catheter to be seen to. There were far too many agency staff who weren't interested in the needs of the patients, or maintaining standards (such as changing beds, cleaning surfaces etc). I did complain to the matron and she explained that they were incredibly short staffed (especially as it was September when there is a baby boom) and according to her our area has one of the highest birth rates in Europe and obviously having temp staff wasn't ideal. I like King's and the permanent doctors and nurses are amazing, but the mat ward was incredibly unhygienic - even some of the showers weren't working when I was there.
  9. Hi JL - I had to pay a visit to find out their telephone number which is 0208 693 9678 or 07943 926 277. What you say sounds concerning as we have a show around planned so I'll certainly look out for the points you've told me to be wary of. Tbh the vast majority of nurseries already seem to be full with long waiting lists (as I've found out couples seem to be putting their names on lists before they've even got pregnant!). Cheers for your help. Have PM'd you. 10. Thanks Tara - have emailed. Much appreciated. tarafitness Wrote: ------------------------------------------------------- > Hi Kate, you can email them on > butterflylanenursery@yahoo.com :)
  11. Thanks Tara. Do you know how to contact them as I really want to arrange a visit. Thanks, Kate.
  12. Thanks. I?ve sent a message to the OP who put up the pics - just waiting for a response. Very strange there?s no way of contacting the place though.
  13. Does anyone know if this nursery is open? Its website doesn't exist and the phone numbers when dialled are 'incorrect'. https://www.instagram.com/butterflylanenursery/ Thanks, Kate.
  14. I don?t think expecting someone to apologise after they suggested a business is taking ?short cuts? is a personal attack. I appreciate DF is ill but a simple ?sorry? would put it to bed. I think it was his initial damaging statement and then stubbornness to apologise that has irked many people.
  15. I don?t think people are ganging up on him for no reason. I am sorry he is ill but he did voice some incorrect assumptions that could have been very damaging to a business. I think some people just want him to say a simple ?sorry?. That?s all. 16. ... and back to Mr Liu! Some photos of the exterior and interior. It looks like the tablecloths have gone and it now has new flooring and decor. I'm keen to know if any other regulars have tried the food and if it's the same/better/worse? https://www.mrliu.co.uk/
  17. This is the company that has a showroom opening on Grove Vale: https://kuchenuk.com/
  18. Even though it's just a door or so down from Dulwich Design Kitchens, I've heard it is going to be another kitchen shop.
  19. Loads of police arrived to arrest what looked like three youths at the front of a house on Melbourne Grove near to the Jarvis Road end at about 4.30pm. Police even got out their taser guns but don?t think they used them. Not sure if the youths got into the property from the back of the new school but the houses with the garden backing on to the school may be more vulnerable now?
  20. Poor Jarvis Road. It seems that it has been dug up and re-laid every few weeks for the last two years as the work is constant. Not sure if it?s to do with the pavement/Thames Water/energy suppliers or nearby school build though?
  21. Go here: http://www.thameswater.co.uk/contactus > Drains and Sewers
  22. The mural looks fantastic! I?m just worrried that it will get defaced and ruined with other people?s rubbish tags and scrawls. Are there plans to put some sort of protection or possibly a clear perspex covering over it?
  23. When I asked a P13 driver, he said that Dog Kennel Hill was too dangerous to drive up for buses until gritted.
  24. Don?t believe the dot matrix outside East Dulwich. Only buses that have stopped have been the P13. I waited 30 mins and no buses to Denmark Hill.
