  1. It?s brilliant. Cheap and great reception.
  2. I was referring to online and offline. Across all SMs. It?s draining. 3. Diana went on TV. Edward and Simpson went on TV. Sometimes enough is enough and in order to get closure and to get your truth out, you go public. I know I certainly would. 4. Exactly. It?s tiresome and seems like a losing battle. For my own sanity I have to avoid getting involved in things like this as I?m constantly dismissed. binkylilyput Wrote: ------------------------------------------------------- > Misogyny > > Racism > > Insidious, pernicious, thinly veiled, > institutional and systemic. > > The message being when will women and people of > colour learn to be pipe down and be quiet? 5. I think anyone commenting without actually WATCHING the show needs to WATCH it first and than comment. The clips are dramatised and taken out of context. When you watch the show there isn?t more holes than a Swiss cheese plus they said there was a ?concern? about Archie?s colour which is different to being curious as to who he will take after colour wise. Watch the show, then give feedback otherwise you are just as bad as the tabloids.
  6. That is definitely a much fairer way to give out school places after looked after children etc. gebbjane Wrote: ------------------------------------------------------- > Totally agree with this - I?ve heard of some > schools that have siblings in catchment, then > catchment as their policy. 7. If the sibling priority is removed but not the catchment then I agree totally as I do know of people who had a kid in a Dulwich school, moved to a bigger house in Crystal Palace etc when they had more children but still commuted to Dulwich for their other children to attend the schools here, sibling priority should only apply if they are still within the catchment. northernmonkey Wrote: ------------------------------------------------------- > Its quite clear that the fairer way for this to > work would be for the Charter Schools to remove > their sibling priority unless either sibling has > SEN where this would make it necessary to take > them to school. > > Secondary school age children are expected to > travel independently - and if they could go to a > local school this would be even easier. > > In addition, before TCSED was built, for those > locally who didn't get a place at Charter North, > the option was Harris Boys and Harris Girls. 8. The email doesn?t say we need to submit paperwork but the official letter does. I received a letter on Monday saying I had until March 31st to submit a council tax letter, child benefit letter and passport/birth certificate via email or I would essentially lose the place and that I could email to decline the space. Cora Wrote: ------------------------------------------------------- > Mmmm...we have been offered a place but haven?t > been told anything about needing to provide any > paperwork yet? 9. Those offered a space at Charter have until the 31st March to submit documents to accept the offer so I?m assuming movements on the waiting list will happen from then onwards, though parents can email to decline the space prior to that. 10. It most likely to be dependent on completion of the next phase of the building. gm99 Wrote: ------------------------------------------------------- > Thank you - though it's unclear to me if that > definitely means a 240 entry size for Sept '22
  11. From their site ? Over the coming years, the school will continue to grow until it reaches its full capacity of 1,680 students via eight forms of entry. Work on phase two of the Charter East Dulwich campus is due to get underway in 2020 and will see the addition of dedicated music and drama teaching spaces as well as outdoor sports facilities and a multi-use assembly hall. The entire campus complex, on the site of the old East Dulwich Hospital, is expected to be completed by 2022.?
  12. Charter East has this on their website: The furthest distance we have offered a place for our year 7 September 2020 intake is 761 metres. https://www.chartereastdulwich.org.uk/page/?title=Do+we+have+a+catchment%3F&pid=200
  13. Yes I was offered my first(and only) choice.
  14. I?m 503m as the crow flies or 593m according to a postcode to postcode website from Charter East which was the only school I put on the application since it?s the closest.
  15. Good luck to everyone finding out about school places today!
  16. At long last. It?s so tiny in there though! Lynne Wrote: ------------------------------------------------------- > Work being done on "Stella's" the former shoe shop > om North X Rd.
  17. Same chap that knocked on my door. He was pushy.
  18. I?ve been opening my front door to find parcels just sat on the doorstep waiting to be stolen as the postman didn?t knock. I only knew I got an email twice to say my parcel has been delivered!
  19. 20. Thought of a new slogan. Black Lives Matter Too. BLMT. Is that more clearer? So it?s not saying ?just? black lives.

  22. If the shopkeepers do wear masks I hope they wear the smile masks in order to be accessible to all of their customers. https://www.facebook.com/friendlyfacemasks/
  23. They all seems to be doing it. My online grocery shop costs a bomb despite the fact that I?m buying the same things. Ironic given the job losses and cut in pay for a lot of people.
  24. Brilliant photos and stories!
