  1. Ah I came along to the cafe but couldn't find anyone, where were u all gathered?
  2. Thanks saffron, will try a steamy bath tonight. The vomiting isn't too bad, just from the effort of coughing really, last night she went to bed at 8, coughed for a solid half hour and was sick at 830, then slept till about 10, awake and coughing with a bit more sick till 1230, coughing again with no sick from 330-5, up at 730, we're all knackered! So sorry to hear about your grand daughter TE44, did she get it despite the vaccinations? I'm pretty sure there's no "whoop" at the mo and have been vaccinated but will bear it in mind!
  3. We've tried raising the head of cot and sprinkling karvol on the sheets but not helping much this time. I've just bought a natural honey and lemon syrup so will try that. Thanks for the tips, will give them all a go! Haven't gone to docs yet, the cold didn't seem that bad and cough only started last night but no fever or anything warranting a trip to an out of hours place, will go Monday if not cleared up.
  4. ...this time rather overzealous leading to throwing up as well all night. For 19 month old LO, has come at the end of a cold, anyone got any miracle cures? (Please!)
  5. Wrap the toys up with lots of Sellotape, it can buy you twice the amount of time!
  6. I'm there!
  7. Strangely enough I was just trying to do this with some dvds, I can get them onto the iTunes library on the laptop but it's windows and not sure if you can sync the iTunes library with iPad without iCloud? Getting very technical now!
  8. Hiya, Anyone know if there's a way to get some Cbeebies or similar shows downloaded onto an iPad so we can take on holiday to Spain with us? I can only find streaming which ive got a feeling wont work abroad, getting very confused! Thanks!

  10. Hi all, I had the same problem a few months ago- health visitor said we should be cutting out the afternoon milk but nursery said she'd feel bad when she saw the others having it. I got around it by making up a bottle of squash for post nap instead. After a few weeks LO started to cut this out naturally and I was then told its fine as the ones who don't have the post nap drink go straight downstairs to play anyway. I didn't notice any of it affecting her (very large) appetite!
  11. Hi, Does anyone know when this is on now? I was sure it used to be Tuesdays at 10, their website says Monday at 215 but don't know how up to date it is and can't get through on phone. Thanks!
  12. On the subject of holidays (sorry to hijack thread a little) how does everyone feel about taking young babies to very hot places? We're thinking of going on holiday this summer and have looked into one of the balearic islands around June time, temp will be Mid to Late 20s, how do little ones cope with this? Obviously will cover in suncream and wear hat/have sun umbrella/keep out of midday sun etc but do they cope ok?
  13. Never plan a day's activities in advance, it will only go wrong and that's REALLY irritating! Much better to just go with the flow!
  14. What's the latest hellosailor? Looks like we've well and truly entered this phase now, is there light at the end of the tunnel?!
  15. Hi, The health visitor has recommended by 13 month old starts taking her milk from beakers, has anyone got a good recommendation for a first one? Apparently as close as possible to a bottle teat is good, and I'm guessing it's better to keep it separate from the water sippy cup. Also, I'm a bit hesitant about converting the bedtime milk into a beaker, is that really essential? It just seems more comforting from a bottle.
  16. Sounds silly but have you tried just giving her her own spoon to hold? My 13 month old went through this at about the same age but now she has her own spoon at every meal so she "feeds herself" (and actually does occasionally even get some in her mouth!) whilst I do the real feeding!
  17. Thanks for the advice everyone, it's been really useful. I think for now we're going to delay it and not rush into making a rash decision, it seems there's lots more googling to be done! Wishing you all a merry christmas x
  18. Hi, We've used formula for the last year with our little one and always done it the same way - Boil the kettle and wait 20-30 mins - Pour water into bottles, add formula, shake then place in a sink full of cold water to chill for 10 minutes - Place into the back of fridge - When needed remove 1, if baby prefers hot (ours did for quite a few months) place bottle in tub full of boiling water As this link explains, the water needs to be above 70 degrees to stop bacteria breeding, if you look under the "transporting a feed" section though it also describes the same procedure above http://www.dh.gov.uk/prod_consum_dh/groups/dh_digitalassets/documents/digitalasset/dh_124526.pdf. Hope that helps, I remember going to great trouble trying to figure out which advice to take at the time as everyone says different things but this way has always worked for us. Merry xmas!
  19. My little one is due her 12 month old MMR vaccine next week, I'm really unsure about giving it to her though. Just wondered what other people's opinions were on this? How easy is it to get them done separately? Anyone know of any places around here? Also wondering whether our private medical insurance would cover it? Thanks in advance!
  20. Anyone know if there's any free parking on the streets around Peckham Rye Train Station? I'm hoping to park around there then catch the train to Victoria weekdays.. Thanks
  21. Did this ever get off the ground?
  22. Good to see everyone, we're having a "quiet day" too! See you next time x
  23. Now the nights are closing in and Dulwich park closes earlier and earlier, my fitness levels are rapidly decreasing! Where do people jog in the winter? Is it "safe" around Peckham Rye Common for a lone female, I'm not talking too late - probably around 6pm ish. Or maybe just a run around the streets circulating Dulwich Park?
  24. I'm there!
  25. We'll come, been meaning to try out that cafe too and Brockwell Park is lovely for a walk afterwards, great views! Emma and Lily x
