  1. Hi all, Sorry for lazy post but I've started researching this and it's already driving me crazy! We have a standard ikea toddler bed and mattress, DD is ready to take the plunge and leave pull-ups off at night I think but we need a waterproof mattress protector first, just incase! All the ones I can find seem to be fitted to full single size, I was also hoping for one which doesn't "rustle". Any recommendations gratefully received! Thanks
  2. Sorry ladies, had an unexpected lie in which I couldn't tear myself away from! Hopefully make the next x

  6. Hi all, Can anyone help with this? We're going to watch the Peppa Pig show at the theatre in Piccadilly Circus and I'm racking my rains for somewhere to eat afterwards, obvious choice is Rainforest Cafe but they're fully booked. Something like a Giraffe would be good but seems like there's none around there, ideally we'd like walking distance. Also any recommendations for ice cream parlours etc would be great! Thanks in advance
  7. Hello, If anyone wants the facebook link please PM me! Thanks X
  8. Anyone got any recommendations? Thanks in advance
  9. Anyone been to the Beckenham one before? We're looking for one to go to on the Saturday night..Dulwich Sports Club still advertising last years on their website so guessing there's not one this year?
  10. IKEA do a good in-between bed, half way between a cotbed/toddler bed size and a full single, think the officially aim it for 3-7 year olds. We went for this one as DD only outgrew her cot at nearly 3 (we didn't have a cotbed) I use it with a normal sized single duvet so we can buy conventional bedding and it looks fine. We've also VERY surprisingly had no trouble with midnight escapes, she doesn't even get out first thing in the morning, still calls for done one to come and get her!
  11. My DD went through a similar phase aged 2, which was around the same time as a move up to the bigger room at nursery. I think it was partly her age and some separation anxiety, along with the change in rooms. I went in to speak to the nursery about it and we decided that distraction techniques were the best in the morning, so they would always make sure there were some toys out for her to go and play with - Good luck, it all passed in a couple of weeks but I remember it being an emotional time!
  12. Hi all, Thanks so much for organising this, alas I've just found out OH is working nights next week so I won't be able to make this one. See you at the next though! Emma x
  13. Dibden, such a great day for a birthday isn't it?! Hope mine comes on the exact due date! I did some pregnancy yoga at tri-yoga last time, it's just off carnaby street so not really the city but was still a good class, think I'd like to do a local one this time to meet some new faces. I'm thi king about nct refresher too, maybe we'll all be on the same one!
  14. Hi all, I'm expecting number 2 in march (17th, st Paddys day!) when dd will be 3 and 3 months. Would love to meet up and can do the 23rd ☺ Emma
  15. I've got a load of vouchers (8 or so) we were given as left today, 30% off as hpsaucey said above. Pm me if u want to collect. By the way it was great and restricted view was fine!
  16. Ooh that's me! Due mid march, daughter will be just over 3, would love to meet up! Emma
  17. Spatone natural iron supplement is great with no side effects, a couple of those a day mixed with orange juice is a great boost
  18. My daughter dropped her naps at home about this age too (although at 2.9 still naps at nursery!) Even though it seems unnatural, I'd just get her in bed as early as possible, We still get her in the bath at 5pm now and she's asleep by 6, then sleeps through till 7 the next morning. It doesn't make the afternoon seem so long (for either of you!) if you do it that way - bring dinner forward to 430 etc ( I think we did have to stop leaving the house after about 2pm for a few months otherwise she'd drop off in the buggy then not go to bed till really late.)
  19. The Florence Herne Hill is great, massive kids room out the back so the kids don't get bored. I'm sure they'd get you some space in the conservatory out the back which is big, light and airy. Food is great too, but prob more Gastropub depending on how special you're looking for...
  20. Lo is now successfully potty trained, hoorah! We're going on holiday next month and will no doubt spend all day on the sandy beach so...what's the etiquette? Take potty for her to use then then dig a big hole in the sand to discard of contents? Pour it in the sea? ( can't imagine that's very pleasant for anyone) or try and find a bit of "shrubbery"? I doubt we'll be able to persuade her to just wade in the sea and go... And as for number 2's?! It's a minefield!
  21. OH nipping out to the shop mid labour, came back with some tunes so I could "breathe more easily", he genuinely thought he was being helpful!
  22. Hi, We had this problem recently with my 2.7 year old, I resurrected this thread here http://www.eastdulwichforum.co.uk/forum/read.php?29,420917 I took it as a sign that she wasn't ready for the potty training despite doing really well the first couple of days. We put her back in nappies and she was still witholding even with nappy on for the first few days. I explained to her that everyone does wee's "mummy does wee's, daddy does wee's etc" and this seemed to help. She's back to going in her nappy but still refuses to get in the bath, I'm guessing she used to wee in the bath quite a lot and is scared of it now... We've been giving her a shower until she's forgotten all about it and will resume training in a month or so I think.
  23. Hiya, Lily (27 months) hasn't had a nap at home for probably about 6 months now. I give her dinner at 430pm, bath at 515 and she's asleep by 6, I wonder if Bess is overtired by 7pm? Sounds like she could be similar to Lily in that she gets more wired the tireder she gets and that makes it even harder to get her down. I'd try a really early bedtime and no nap, it felt unnatural and almost too good to be true at first but it still works now!
  24. Hello, Was just googling this very thing and good old edf came up so thought I'd resurrect... We started potty training 2.7 year old last Sunday, it was all going pretty well, by tue no accidents and lots of sitting on potty but only a dribble at a time, I could tell she still needed to go as soon as she stood up. Anyway, she then got an awful cold coupled with molar teething, had a temperature and generally totally not in the mood for potty training so we just put her back in nappies and thought would try again in a month or so. However (I'm getting to the point now!) she now seems to still be holding in her wee's even in her nappies, like op she seems to be scared of going at all now. She's been obviously really uncomfortable all day today, wants lots of cuddles and very fidgety. Refused bath for last few days and constantly holding herself. I've tried reassuring saying its ok to do wee wee in nappy ( and bath!) but it doesn't seem to be helping. She's only had 2 practically dry nappies today, despite drinking a lot but even with the sun doesn't seem much, I guess it will all come out tonight... She's also not done a "proper" poo for a week...same reasons? Any advice gratefully received, my instinct is not to mention potty again for a few weeks unless she brings it up? Oh btw I don't think she has uti, the temperature started a bit before the holding in episodes but may still take to gp just to check.
  25. In my head I'm a "that or nothing"er, but she always chooses nothing...then wakes up at night hungry...I like my sleep too much!
