Just a heads up really. We've noticed a lot of new cracks recently appearing in the internal plasterwork of the house, some 2-3mm wide, with some under window frames that you can clearly see daylight through. A quick google search has shown that that insurance claims for similar things have risen by 20% over the summer. It would seem to be common in areas with a clay soil, which is exactly what we all have, following a long dry summer. One notable point is that you might resist attempting to fix the issues immediately as once the soil becomes damp again in the autumn, it will swell again and the cracks may close themselves. Of course, this will not be the case in all instances and your house may be just about to fall into a massive hole in the ground.

Exactly how is London 'in desperate need of additional housing'? London is in desperate need of additional transport infrastructure to cope with the spiralling population growth that all the (for profit) property development is adding to. There's a lot of singing and dancing about how positive all the current transport improvement is but it's nowhere near enough. All of this while a significant amount of high-end property is bought as an investment and sitting empty. We're struggling to get on a bus or train now, how are we going to in the future? The London Bridge development looks like it's going to provide us with less of a service than before. I can see the benefit of more affordable housing obviously, however the fact that this extra housing is situated in East Dulwich would probably render it fairly unaffordable from the off. -

I feel I must stress to all readers that, however angry you may get, on no account would it be advisable to explode in the park. Asides the obvious damage to oneself, this action will almost certainly cause danger to other park users, would damage the path itself and cause the entire park to be closed for some considerable duration while pieces of you are removed from the surrounding trees and landscape. -
Good cycling route to Fulham broadway

About 20 years ago I used to do this exact route. Some roads may have changed their usage since then but give it a go. Some busy roads but fairly off piste generally. Half Moon Lane, Dulwich Road, Brixton Water Lane, Lambert Road, Mandrell Road, Lyham, Crescent Lane, Long Road, Battersea Rise, Boutflower Rd, Strath Terr, Plough Rd, Harbut, Nantes Cl, thru the underpass, Wandsworth Bridge Road and then a slow coast thru the park to get my breath back before I arrived. About 35 mins as I remember. -
