  1. My boy is starting in the morning session in a couple of weeks. I think it would be quite sweet if he knew a couple of faces for when he starts.. please let me know if you would like to meet up.
  2. Help - just looking into this, I've seen on previous threads nannytax.co.uk recomended but that's ?260 pa (ouch - it's only for 2 days work!). Nannypaye is coming in at ?170 which has also been recommended. Just found Taxnanny which is only ?100! -has anybody used these guys? I guess they are all pretty much the same? Any other recommendations? Also, do you have employes Liability insurance or does your household ins cover this? Is it neccessary? Any other helpful tips? thx
  3. PLimsoul - how do you go about doing it yourself, I havent really looked into yet but think I may have found a nanny so that's my next step along with the contract. thx
  4. Hi Twinmum - I have a 3yrd old boy and twins who are 11months (boys again!), I've found it hard to get to the twins club as well but have met a few great twin mums locally and we have a splinter group that tries to meet on a Thurs/Friday each week either in Peckham Rye or Dulwich Park. There are 2 others as well as myself who have twins and an older sibling so we feel your pain. Send me a pm with your mob no and I'll let you know when we meet next x
  5. Thanks, interesting reading

  8. Aren't there loads of stairs at Bromley SOuth? is there a lift there now?
  9. Did anyone spot Mz Beany walking up L' lane by Green and Blue and Dulwich DIY in a clip on her progrmme last week? Has an ED resident been on the show?
  10. Royal Tiffin in SE23 for take away, you wont order from ED again
  11. So then, moving on - where to move out to? We're constantly talking about it - but moving to the country for us would be a move to a house down a country lane, not a semi in Reigate.. has anyone found an area with a good vibe - not gin n' jags as we've found out Surrey way
  12. Ha ha - thanks for putting a smile on my face!
  13. Thanks - just thought it might be quicker this way.. have you ever phoned the council?
  14. I know I'm moaning to the converted (know the area), but the number of cars that come down Upland road expecting to turn into Piermont Road and get thro to the common is phenomenal. Once they realise they cannot get through they need to reverse back out catching wing mirros on the way, back into one of the cars parked on Upland road and then drive away - is there anyway we can get the council to put a sign up letting people know this is not a thro road?
  15. Hi Tracey - where do you park for the rotherhithe farm? thx
  16. we'll be there tomorrow for sure!
  17. I've got some Irish rellies over - 4 lovely ladies who all like a drink and boogie. W're out in Ed, but just wondered where we can go dancin till late. What's Liquorish like these days - although the dance floor is tiny in there. Or the Grove - I hear there is a DJ there, but last time I went there (good few years ago) it was quite townie.. Any other suggestions? Shoudl we just head to Clapham?
  18. I think we shoudl just open an 'incidents' folder - the curtain twitchers can spend all there time in there leaving the gossip folder to good old gossip
  19. Opening up the formum on General ED issues/gossip and every other post being about some type of crime is frazzling my nerves...
  20. Scary stuff... to any newcomers to ED - please do not be put off by this, it is a rare incident
  21. Blimey - what street is that?
  22. Hi Mrs Y, I would be interested in organising one... we live near the junction with upland and Piermont road.. only problem is I havent grown much of my own... prob only some tomatoes and strawberries (if the children don't get them first). Le tme know if you're still up for it.
  23. The geese herding was a new one, but seemed to be winning the corwds?! Stalls were a bit of a let down, I believe a few went over in the gusts and overheard a stall holder claiming for compensation... Jeez! Victorian Fair was a winner with the kids, could maybe have done with a bit more space.. the Plough was packed (with Jazz @4- v impressed)- how was the dog?
  24. Speak to the organisers of the Upland Road street party - it's an annual event and a lovely day out.. sorry, not sure who the main man/woman is..
  25. We have a fox with 4 cubs in our back garden - the come out around 9-10am and again in the early evening for a feed from their mumma. This will prob strike up a war, but I've left a bit of food out for her - I know I shouldnt but she's feeding 4 cubs and they are quite big now (around the size of a house cat). Anyway, they are lovely to watch, bouncing around like 4 puppies, playing with the magpies (?!) - ahhh
