  1. Hi, Am due to give birth with my second child at some point in March. I currently have an 18 month old who I look after full time, would love to meet a few local people in the same situation and arrange playdates. Feeling a bit lost and apprehensive about the coming weeks and would love to find people in same situation for support / cake etc. Please PM if you want to meet. thanks
  2. I have only just seen this, I wasn't able to make the first meet up as I was on holiday but would be keen to pop along this Friday. Due with my second in less than 6 weeks, see you Friday night! Elle
  3. Is anyone able to recommend a local post-natal doula? Am thinking about hiring one when baby number 2 makes an appearance but would like some recommendations? thanks
  4. Sounds good. I am a 28 year old SAHM with a 16 month old and a baby due in March please include me on any emails arranging a meet up
  5. Only just seen this thread, I am due with my second son in mid-March (son number 1 will be about 18 months), I am flying back from hols on the 14th but would love to be kept in the loop as to when others are meeting. I am a stay at home mum so fairly flexible meeting up during the week (well as flexible as can be with a 16 month and large bump in tow!!), would be keen to make some new friends!
  6. Hi I am a SAHM, have a 16 month old and baby number 2 due in March, most NCT mums all back at work so I do get quite lonely, would love to get a new network going, especially with number 2 due soon. Haven't made it to Bumps and Babes in weeks and am on holiday on the 10th but will try and make it there soon. In the meantime if there is a meet up being arranged I would love to be included. Desperately missing adult conversation, must learn more about these I love Biscuits badges too, would love to get my hand on one! Please keep me posted. x
  7. I am also all for parking permits. I live on copleston road and can never get parked anywhere near my house, I have a toddler and another baby on the way, it makes things very difficult when trying to carry anything from the car to the house. i usually end up looping round the one way system several times trying to spot a space. I know for a fact that residents who used to live on copleston road but have since moved out still park their car here as it has great access to the station. Also we have a lot of disabled bays down our road which never seem to be in use, I wonder if these are reviewed on an annual basis? I am sure they are not all required and may free up some spaces.
  8. We had a loft conversion done last year and our side return this year which was finished just a month or so ago. We used different builders for each. The builders we ended up going with for our side return were fantastic and significantly cheaper than other quotes we received. ?20k total price (including the fitting of the kitchen, not including kitchen units or our patio doors). The work itself took around 11 weeks to complete although, as we went for underfloor heating we had to wait for the floor to be completely dry before we could have our floor laid (approx 8 weeks drying time). There was lots of dust and fairly stressful with a crawling one year old. However the side return has made a huge difference to our living space, especially with a young child. I would definitely recommend having it done. Our terrace house is not as wide as some houses which is why the quote was cheap but I am sure the builders we used would provide a very competitive quote. Please PM me if you want our builders details or if you want to see the work they have done to our house.
  9. I am looking into potential business opportunities that I can fit round looking after my son. Am thinking about setting up my own local online business renting out toys. I Will be looking at purchasing large items like jumperoos and smaller items like trunkis for holidays etc. The idea will be to deliver locally and give babies / young children the opportunity to refresh their toy collection on a regular basis. Also allowing parents the opportunity to try out a toy before making a commitmment to purchase it, as well as space saving and environmental benefits. All toys will of course be well cleaned after use. Would love some feedback from you all to hear if this is a service you may consider using or reasons why not, any positive / negative comments welcome as it is still just an initial idea at this stage. thanks Happy82
