Shredded paper in garden recycling
DulwichFox replied to oimissus's topic in General ED Issues / Gossip
I put my Shredded paper in small strong paper bags (From my Take away Deliveries) and put it to my BLUE bin with other paper... Cardboard ... Tins... Bottles. etc. I Staple the bag up so it does not spill. Foxy -
After Delivery you have 6 months to fill it up and arrange collection. Took 3 weeks to fill my 8 yard skip for a job in my Back Garden. Took away old fencing ... took up old Patio slabs.. soil .. rubble.. Needed space for new materials.. Skip was Full and taken away. This is for new project and I have lots of left over material from previous job. Back of my garden is a raised area which was decked. but needs replacing. (rotten) 10 x 2400mm lengths. and Battening. Will take me a couple of days to fill bag. They do not wait while you do it. All needs to be carried through the house. Plus I have 20 brand new 45 x 45 slabs to get rid of that no one seems to want (FREE) They might make the bag too heavy. Foxy

Has anyone used HIPPO Waste Bags service. I contacted HIPPO as a general enquiry to ask if a Permit was required like you need with a Skip. I was told that a Permit was NOT required but a Builders Bag Licence was needed. How does that work... ? Who do I need to contact. ? DulwichFox

Basically a Village by definition is a community with a Central Ecclesiastical Center. (a main Church) A congregational centre... for people to meet. Also a Pub (The Pub) ... A 'Village' shop.. Not a chain.. Back in the Day a Blacksmith.. Foxy

KidKruger Wrote: ------------------------------------------------------- > Well? Peckham was a village - it?s in the name ! Peckham was a Hamlet of the parish of Camberwell, situated about a mile to Camberwell?s east on the road to New Cross. The name means ?the place of the river Peck?, a small steam that runs through the district. Peckham has never been an administrative district, or a single ecclesiastical parish in its own right; nevertheless, today it has a strong sense of local identity. This may well be why Peckham was never classed as a Village This has its roots in its 19th century development from fields to suburbs, and crucially the development of Rye Lane as one of the most important shopping streets in south London. Nunhead is in Nunhead. It is NOT a Village. Original London Villages:- Clerkenwell. Hampstead. Chelsea. Dulwich. That's more or less it. Foxy

Had not noticed it until I moved them a few weeks after work had ended. Sealed it with Fernox LS-X Still a tiny drip after a few applications. Will see if it clears up after a couple more layers of Resin.. Foxy

I Gave up my car in Feb/March 2019.. My car was 26 years old. The correct tyres were virtually no longer available locally. The washer bottle had split and the Washer pump finally packed up. The hand brake was on it's last notch. My optician said I could still legally drive with corrected Vision (glasses) but as my cataracts were getting worse I was renewing my glasses very 6 months.. (expensive) My Cataracts have now been sorted.. My Distance Vision is excellent.. I can now Legally drive without having to wear glasses. Not 20-20 but very close to. I have no desire to buy another car.. Problems Parking at Home.. Charging points.. Car Parking Fees.. Roads Closed Off.. Cameras Fines if you stray into the wrong lane.. Congestion Charges.. ULEZ Charges.. It's a nightmare driving these days.. It was Fun when I was 18... I have not regretted giving up my car.. I do not need a Car.. I used to drive to the coast... ?40.00 petrol.. ?8.00 + Parking.. Can't have a drink. Train to Brighton with Freedom Pass (to East Croydon) ?20.00 Return and I have a couple of beers with my Fish & Chips.. Foxy
