How's the Palmerston doing these days? I used to go alot - but got a bit fed up with the service - very slow and food could be hit and miss. Has you say downsouth, hopefully the success of the Rosendale will set a fine example.

I agree about the Greyhound, was a pretty awful pub though perhaps the likes of the Palmerston, or the Rosendale could see another opportunity - that would help:)

I agree it's great for the area, I've been once just after it opened and it was very good, not really a gastro pub though. I believe Anglea Hartnett was championing it at the awards!! Perhaps now that Ramsay has closed the restaurant at The Connaught she's looking.....................

I live in Sydenham at the top end, I agree the transport links are great I am equal distance to Sydenham taking me into the City or Sydenham Hill going into town. Sydenham I think has a long way to go as far as the high street is concerned but the parks are lovely I am close to Dulwich, the private girls school (Sydenham Girls School) is one of the best in the UK and the Dulwich Woodhouse (my local) is very good and That's Amore (Italian Restaurant) is very good. However I would agree Honor Oak will be the next ED.

Fantastic italian in Sydenham worth getting in the car for!
