While we are trying to get the time and location changed to make it easier for people to attend, we still need more numbers as we are running thin! We know it's difficult for some but please we need your help. Bring your children, grandmother, etc along as its important that councillors see how we are all being affected by the Great Exhibition's lack of concern for the ED community. Dear neighbours, Thanks for all your support. Due to the objections the matter of the Great Exhibition's license extension will go to a hearing on August 30th. This is good news as it means the Council will further scrutinise the matter before making a decison. We met the Council and handed in the petition. Jonathan Mitchell also met with us and as James said has submitted an objection, together with James and Rosie. Thanks to all 3 Councillors for their support, we really appreciate it! Given the number of objections and serious concerns raised by neighbours, Councillors and Tessa Jowell MP (who has sent a letter objecting to the proposal) WE WOULD LIKE THE GREAT EXHIBITION TO WITHDRAW THIS APPLICATION, ahead of the hearing. We are currently exploring other issues with the license, as James has outlined on his message above. Please if you live in the vicinity of TGE and would like to discuss this with us, PM me. Thanks to all the neighbors who today signed the petition. We got more than 50 sign ons of people in Crystal Palace rd, Underhill rd and Whateley rd. We are having a meeting with the Council tomorrow, we'll keep you in the loop. It did surprise me how many people expressed concerns about the existing noise situation, as well as worried about the prospects of an extended license. We do hope that this whole issue makes the management of the pub realise that they can do things better to ensure we can all enjoy the neighborhood. We clearly all love the Great Exhibition and no doubt it's a great improvement from the previous, CPT. We do love having Sunday roasts and having a drink in the terrace. But clearly, compared to other pubs in the area, like The Actress, more can be done to get it right. This is obviously not over. There will be a preliminary decision on Thursday and then a hearing in August. Please if you haven't yet written to the Council do so before Thursday. Thanks for all your support!

We are next door neighbours to the Great Exhibition and are already affected by the levels of noise under existing licensing conditions. We will be writing to the Council objecting the granting of this license. I encourage neighbours in the area who, like me, have concerns about this issue to write to the Council by thursday (no later please). We are worried that given short deadline and summer holidays not many people will write - so please I encourage all concerned neighbours to do the same. Don't assume that this will be sorted out, please try and play your part. Thanks!
