  2. It's more to do with your distance from the Exchange. Try this http://www.samknows.com/broadband/exchange_mapping

Erm........how does that work for buses, vans, lorries etc? Also, that route is considerably tighter anyway.

Another example of someone who complains on the internet rather than knock on the door and ask them to keep the noise down. Is your copy of the Guardian delivered vacuum sealed to limit your interaction with the outside world?
  5. worldwiser Wrote: ------------------------------------------------------- > The number of near-misses with > buggies and pedestrians vs traffic turning from LL > into EDG is getting very worrying. Was this not actually made more of a problem after the last round of 'improvements' with the crossing being put in on LL at the junction? Once the traffic flow up LL stops for these lights then the filtering traffic has right of way to turn into EDG.

So it's only this world that you're closed minded and bigoted to then? And cigar smoke? How very middle class. You must be distraught.
  7. lane lover - I'm sure that's of great comfort to all those people who've recently been burgled. Season's Greetings to you too..........
  8. It's instant online, isn't it? Via Apple? I'm sure it was when I last did it. The recipient gets an email and off you go.

Sadly not, there are several more burglary threads over the last couple of days. I think we can assume that not everyone who is burgled is a member here and puts a thread up. Can you try and put pressure on for some patrols? It sounds like they are needed at night so I accept we might be on a hiding to nothing......
  10. Www.malwarebytes.org download, update and run. Failing that, www.akaluk.com over the hill in Streatham Vale do virus cleaning. They do collection and return too but you'd need to call them for a price. Friendly guys that speak hooman too :)
  11. Hi James, I'm sure you've noticed the numerous threads that have gone up in the last few days about burglaries, muggings etc. can you please try and get some uniformed police patrols in the area, as we are clearly in the cross hairs of the scum bags that do this and despite arrests before, things appear to have got worse not better.

Never seen this level of behaviour. Im not sure what you're trying to say but you're failing. I'm not the only one that apparently feels you're defending this behaviour, albeit passively if that makes you feel any better. And I don't think openly advocating this guys picture being put back up is 'curtain twitching'. Hopefully someone would recognise him and do the right thing.

You do realise that you are effectively defending this chaps repugnant behaviour, don't you? And that wasn't a personal attack on you at all, I was merely assuming that you'd feel different if it were to directly effect you. I guess the staff of the EDT don't deserve your protection, lowly bar types that they are...
  17. Perhaps we should take it in turns to do the same on your door step, KK? See if that changes your opinion? And ADMIN; given the positive identification by several people on here I don't see any justification for taking down the photo. That's pretty spineless, even by this forum's standards. Perhaps it would be more useful if someone were to send that photo to the Police, or at least to the poor staff at EDT so they can pass it on. Shame on the pair of you. I wonder if this post will be deleted, like before...........
  18. ^^^ this. Ruffers, at some point, the little Herbert that did this needs to see that there is a consequence. Even if he is the tear away child of 'normal decent' people. Especially so if this is the case. If they have to fork out ?1500 on repairing the damage he caused, then there will be a visible consequence in most households. SKY turned off? Well son, the ?1500 I paid out to repair those cars? That means we can't afford SKY anymore. Ipad sold on ebay? Every penny counts. One of the great ills of our time is the lack of consequence, unless you can afford to pay out. Look at the way motorists get treated as cash cows. It's now infinitely cheaper to run the risk of no insurance, no tax, no licence than it is to be law abiding. You get caught? Soft slap on the wrist and then drive home from court. If it were my car that was damaged in this way and they caught the kid that did it, I'd expect their parents to pony up for the repairs regardless of the background story. If you can't do the time, don't do the crime. Was always the way until the rot set in, in or about 1997........

Surely if the Police caught him, you have a case for his parents to pay up for the damage? At 15 he is still a minor and their responsibility. Wishful thinking perhaps, but better than seeing your insurance premium go up next renewal!

  21. There are a few new threads post this date, which would suggest that there is still a problem. Also, the stickers/smart water kits aren't that big of a deterrent. I don't think that it would stop a stolen iPad etc being sold on for one second. Given the level of reoffending in the UK, getting caught doesn't seem to be much of an issue/deterrent for said 'promising footballers'.
  22. How did you pay for the work? If you paid by either credit or debit card, you have redress through the card issuer. This includes a debit card, despite what your bank might tell you!
  23. Hi James, Given the sudden influx of burglary & mugging threads over the last couple of weeks, can you tell us if there are plans for extra (or any?) police patrols for the area? thx ED
  24. Make sure you get yourself a 'baby on board' badge. I regularly give up my seat, as do many others, for pregnant commuters but the badge makes you far more visible to us all. I've seen standing commuters ask if someone seated will give up their seat when they see the magic badge on a fellow commuter. It's like Kryptonite! Good luck with the pregnancy :)
  25. Abmvt.co.uk has classes in Tooting and Soho. Ving Tsun relies less on strength and more on technique so is very useful for someone of a smaller build. Very friendly bunch, too! Last I heard, you can show up for a taster lesson for free but I'd confirm that first with them.
