So true! This made me smile as I sit here with a large glass of baileys as my little ones have their dinner. (slightly jealous that my husband is still out at work!)

Anyone interested in 3-5 yr old football classes?
Peppa replied to bee74's topic in The Family Room Discussion
Tuesday morning would have been good for me too, anything after 4pm is too late for us. -
I also used blackout blinds and put a 'heartbeat' sounds musical thing from her chair under her cot.

I had this problem too, mine are now 2.5yrs and 9months. Its no longer a problem for us but can't remember when exactly I fixed it. I basically had to get baby no 2 to go to sleep by herself at bed time when my 2 year old had already gone to bed, so I had time to settle her. It was actually much easier than I had expected, (or maybe just much easier compared to my first child). I think she was around 7 months when she finally managed daytime naps in the cot without any tears, something changed and she seemed ready/happier to do so. Or maybe I was more determined? I still haven't managed to get them to nap at the same time though...

A bit too heavy at 7 months? My little one seemed too heavy for the babybjorn at 2 months!! Anyway, just to agree with everyone, the ergo really is fantastic and you're welcome to pop over and try it.

Hello, I have been wondering about this daytime sleep thing too.... my little one (now 7 months) has not been sleeping much in the day at all for quite a few weeks, probably since she turned 5 months. She has been having two 30 min sleeps per day, the first at around 11:30 am and then the second at 4pm ish. Recently there have been days where she just has one lunch time sleep. I can't spend too much time "helping" her to sleep in her cot, last time I tried - my 2 year old emptied a large bottle of water over his bedroom carpet and washed his teddies in the loo.
-
I have also reused our mattress for baby no 2. I don't think I would have used a second hand mattress from someone else though. I knew our mattress was never badly soiled and always had a protector on it so I felt comfortable with my decision.

I think I was VERY lucky - mine slept through it.

Hello, We're going to try to come along this afternoon, I have a 2 year old and a 4 month old. We've got a doctors appt at lunch time so as long as there are no major tantrums we'll see you later.

My toddler started being travel sick at around 6 months old and I have now given up trying to go anywhere by car or bus. He would be sick within the first few minutes and then cry/ scream for the rest of the journey. He was prescribed something at around 12 months but it didn't work and travelling became very stressful and messy. When we needed to take a long journey to see family we would carry him out of bed and drive overnight, if he woke up we'd sit in the car (for upto an hour) waiting for him to go to sleep. He has recently turned 2 so I should now be able to try other medication, pleased to hear it's worked for others.

Swaddling - when and how long for
Peppa replied to supergolden88's topic in The Family Room Discussion
I found swaddling really helped until around 8 weeks, her arms did manage to escape fairly frequently but it did help to settle her to fall asleep. I bought a couple of the mothercare swaddling blankets but mainly just used a normal blanket. I think it really depends on the individual baby. -
Am I expecting too much by thinking parents should supervise their children while they are at play groups? On several occasions my toddler has been pushed/hit/kicked by other children who seem not to have a parent watching them, or at least not stepping in to stop this behaviour. I understand a certain amount of "toddler behaviour" in inevitable but its very off putting for quieter children. Today a toddler threw a wooden toy at my 10 week old baby's head, she later came back with more toys for another attempt. Its so frustrating.

Autumn babies club: park meet up
Peppa replied to supergolden88's topic in The Family Room Discussion
Hello, We are still coming, but have not been before so no idea of play areas. -
Oh, I understand. I also had to go to the physio for back/hip pain and had to take my toddler with me as I didn't have anyone to look after him. If it helps the appointments have been no longer than 10 mins. I also had to walk there and back as my little one is very travel sick!
