Jules. I have come across the same problems. I care for my disabled sister. Her Southwark council flat is freezing, so much so you can see your breath. Old large windows that are rotten and bang in the wind, not insulated, not secure, so we drilled and screwed them locked. I have tried through her social worker under the Southwark Council Safer Warmer scheme but was adamatly met with blank looks every time, and no action. I even wrote to the head of Southwark Council - nothing. I have found that no one is willing to look at an individual case and recommend improvements. However painting. etc to the exterior of houses along the street has been done. It is more than shocking that vulnerable residents are living like this. My sister spends most of her time in bed under several duvets, it is too risky for her to have an electric blanket or a hot water bottle. The cost of her gas and electricity bills are a constant stressful worry and she cannot meet payments to heat her home and I have to help financially. She is considering moving into shared sheltered housing for this very reason. Totally unacceptable, and very frustrating. If you do get anywhere could you let me know.

New out of town shop on East Dulwich Road

Calculus. Joannas have updated their burger. A soft buttery brioche bun, and I am not going to tell you the rest, so not to spoilt it. It was so divine that I had to go back again the following week for another one, while the hubbie had rabbit. Which is another of the lovely things. A great menu to please all. Now I am hungry!

I am a BIG fan of Joanna's, and have been twice in the last month and can reliably report that it is always amazing. William even sat down with us for a chat and bought us a glass of champagne for our wedding anniversary - How fantastic is that. It is still under the same ownership and management as it has been for the last 30 years+ and I am sure they would love to see more of ED come up the hill. Corinne

Hi, I am a Private Chef working locally and have been approached by Housebites. Unfortunately they are now not looking to expand in this area until May of next year at the earliest. If you like my facebook page Thyme and Place, you will see postings of drop off suppers locally that I will be doing from this Saturday. Intexasatthe moment I have pm'd you. Best advice is to leave earlier if you can. There are a lot of speed restrictions on M1 at the moment, the later you leave the worst everything is london and the M1...I leave on a Saturday around 9am and its fine. I find the best way is over vauxhall bridge, marble arch, down the edgware road, then turn right by lords cricket ground as you get to the canal and little venice, so do not follow M1 signs at the lights there, as Kilburn is stop start traffic, and a nightmare at any time...takes me an hour to get onto the M1 with the this route and timing.

Get real HonaloochieB - Del Boy was fictitious. Champagne Charlie is a confident, repetitive, con artist. Note the difference. > Contact the South London Press, Evening Standard, get his name and photograph in newspapers again IanR I wonder if they'd risk any identifying reference on current information. But passing the word around the trade of someone using this MO might be a good idea. As long as Champagne Charlie does not have a court case pending press could refer to it...sure they would know how to word it... AND ???? were those beans bitter! -

Sue, Really sorry to hear of your encounter with this horrible man...Contact the South London Press, Evening Standard, get his name and photograph in newspapers again, just contact the press desk; nationals often pick up from that too. That would be satisfying retribution in my book! -
