  1. Pretty sure he already owns the Mexican in Beckenham, so a repeat of LL (Mexican out, Turkish in)...
  2. Have you been to the knitting shop opposite Herne Hill station (http://www.sharpworks.co.uk/) or John Lewis??
  3. 17 year old boy was shot in the stomach, life threatening injuries; happened on South Croxted Road - air ambulance landed at Paxton Green and the police helicopter was overhead for ages... http://www.standard.co.uk/news/crime/teenager-fighting-for-his-life-after-being-shot-in-west-dulwich-10131071.html
  4. Ashleys bar on Copthall Avenue - the owner put his hand up my skirt, I threw my drink in his face, he barred me...
  5. Premium bonds (parents will have to apply on his behalf)....
  6. Mea culpa - I thought it said "Eurovision loons"...
  7. Unctuous - every "chef" on telly uses it to describe their food these days.....
  8. Called Nick and asked him to mend my leaking shower tray - he rang me promptly, gave me a quote, suggested I buy the sealant so I could choose what I wanted and would keep his costs down. We agreed a time/date (36 hours after I first contacted him), he texted me to say he was on his way, did the job well and cleaned up after what is a very messy job! He was very polite, professional and was done within the timeframe and quote. I would thoroughly recommend him and would certainly use his services again for small jobs; I'd also ask him to quote for larger painting/decorating jobs in the future....

No it's not a joke - the signs should be on the South Circular not on Croxted Road.....

I appreciate that, but TfL/Southwark have gone to the trouble of marking the road and putting up speed signs for the width of the South Circular - by the time you've accelerated from 20 to 30 you're back in the 20 zone (if you even have the time to do that) - an utterly pointless jobsworth piece of crap....
  14. Croxted Road is 20mph; then increases to 30mph as you cross the South Circular; then reverts to 20mph on Croxted Road - what a complete and utter waste of resources and time for a 10 yard stretch of tarmac....
  15. We used panels in our wet room - can't remember the make but went to Bell's on Lordship Lane.... Our walls are neither flat, nor square, but the ones we used have a tolerance in them - no leaks, easy to clean, sturdy and look good.... Not sure how to add a photo - but PM me if you'd like me to email some pics...
  16. It was a wonderful day - no traffic (until about 8pm), people ski-ing (yes really) along Park Hall Road, his Lordship managed to get from work as far as the Dog in the Village and then 'had' to stay there for a few pints and a spot of dinner until he could get a lift the rest of the way home... 17. It was always pronounced HArass until Michael Bleedin' Crawford came along and then everything changed - it makes me want to stick my head between railings and pull my ears off! 18. Apologies if I've posted this before, but the (fairly) recent mispronunciation of the word "harass" (and/or "harassment"). Michael Crawford in "Some Mothers Do 'Ave 'Em" has a lot to answer for -oh how the audience laughed when he emphasised the "rass" rather than the "ha", but now it is commonplace.

  21. David Bowie (was dragged along to Town & Country in Leeds in 97ish - I walked out, bored rigid)...
  22. the word "totes" - as in this thread (at least it wasn't followed by "amazeballs") http://www.eastdulwichforum.co.uk/forum/read.php?20,1458307,1458359,page=1#msg-1458359

Even if that were true, how is that relevant - the fact is that West Dulwich has an event and it would be lovely and neighbourly to get some support and input from ED businesses and residents....
