  1. Bradley passed by my place yesterday to do 2 carpets and did a top notch job as per usual.. I would highly recommend him. He also did a couple of errands for me. He is a genuine, fair and very pleasant chap.
  2. Just come across this thread. What on earth are you all going on about. Talk about spewing forth. Le Chardon was pseudo-French, the service was often lacking and they could be inattentive to the point if rude.
  3. TheCat Wrote: ------------------------------------------------------- > I guess from a press perspective when there's > already been 5 fatal stabbings in London this week > it doesn rate a mention. Which is pretty shocking > and upsetting really... > > [www.theguardian.com] > n-found-fatally-stabbed-on-london-bus-marylebone I just saw that, really worrying ? bringing us towards USA levels, e.g. nine homicides in New York this week. The numerous London stabbings was mentioned on BBC news last week.
  4. I doubt if alcohol would be acceptable. Sainsbury's on Dog Kennel Hill have a drop off container where food can be left. Mostly they like tins so no perishable food - beans, fish etc and also rice, pasta.
  5. Our hearts should be saddened by the atrocities that happen in our world now. In Nice, Berlin and also Aleppo, just a few. There are many more. The innocents who are destroyed, the lives devastated. All are caused by hate. Let's try and think positive thoughts and hope for a more positive and peaceful planet. Magnified and sanctified Be thy holy name Vilified and crucified In the human frame A million candles burning For the help that never came You want it darker We kill the flame (Apologies to Leonard Cohen)
  6. Is little man, the same as Wee Man?
  7. On Lordship Lane, a very nice haberdashery, Really Maria. Used to be a deli I think.
  8. Happy now that they are being moved on? Can't have the likes of them in East Dulwich.
  9. Are you all Daily Mail readers? Certainly sound it.
  10. These sessions were introduced in 2015, so they are not new.
  11. I use the free 60s plus swim and gym at East Dulwich and also Peckham and Camberwell Pool. As such one can exercise and/or swim every day (except Friday when there is gym but no free swim).
  12. There should be nothing of a personal nature in a dustbin, so what is wrong with someone looking through one?
  13. Do you realise that this thread goes back 3 years?
  14. Ivan Edake - you might be entitled to your opinion, but it was not only an unpleasant post but quite a stupid one.
  15. I read that police could not trail them as they had no helmets!
  16. I lived and worked in Paris for over 20 years and knew Monoprix well. It is a good supermarket; however, I have always thought that compared to British supermarkets, particular the likes of Sainsbury's, that it did not have such a good variety of produce and it certainly is not cheap. Many Lidl's have been springing up in Paris over the last few years.
  17. I have used the following a few times in the past. Reliable, local and excellent quality. Not sure if this is what you are looking for. www.farmdrop.co.uk
  18. "The neighbours probably hate me." Why? Should we not try to help all living creatures? Good on you for helping.
  19. I've been with Melbourne Grove for some years now and it has improved, though I have not had too many problems with the surgery overall. The not quite on the ball doctors have now gone. On very few occasions have I not got a same day appointment. Some times it is necessary to keep trying the number, especially first thing when they open at 8am. If you ring early morning you will be given a morning appointment. For afternoon appointments, it is necessary to ring around mid-day or go there if able to. Compared to comments regarding other surgeries in the area, I do not think that Melbourne Grove is bad in comparison.
  20. There is already a sign up at East Dulwich Road/Peckham Rye corner indicating 40, 185, 176 bus diversion going now towards Peckham.
  21. I enquired in March 2013 and below is what I received from her. "I am based between Herne Hill and Tulse Hill station, on Norwood Road. I charge ?20 per 30min, ?30 per 45min, ?40 per 1hour lesson. I usually start with 30min lessons with complete beginners as my lessons are quite intense. It takes couple of weeks to get use to this type of concentration level."
  22. and bus strike tomorrow also.
  23. Woke me up too, but I decided that it was so late it night it was someone playing silly b.....s. Certainly wasn't organised, too late for that. Burns Night by the way, is not normally celebrated with fireworks, more a wee dram or two.
  24. Thread should be deleted. Too many Daily Mail'ish comments and mentalities.
  25. It's got to do with diversion as mentioned above. Been going on for a while. 484 at the moment is not much better.
