I have an icandy cherry and absolutely love it! My key need was a lightweight pram as travel a lot and also have stairs at home. I travelled to the States with the frame and carrycot in December, with no problems whatsoever. My daughter is 4 months old and still in the carrycot, and happy in it. Hope you have an easy 3rd trimester and best wishes for the delivery..

Problem solved. Apparently the person responsible for booking people in has been on annual leave for weeks and is not due back till mid August. There is also no availability until end of September. Given I'm trying to organise this for my NCT group (who are all due in Sept), I have to look for an alternative...

Have tried to call the London Ambulance Service number and left several messages on tehir voicemail, with no response:o( Has anyone used them recently and/or does anyone know of an alternative number? Thanks, BC

Anyone know of a good pregnancy yoga class?
Browncoffee replied to HollieES's topic in The Family Room Discussion
Seems like you have a few options for pregnancy yoga already. I'm currently with Oakwood midwives who are part of the Forest Hill Surgery (on Forest Hill Road which is off Barry Road). They've been brilliant and I've heard great reviews from other mothers and mothers-to-be. I'm 30 weeks pregnant and due in Sept. Keeping gender secret too, so can have nice surprise:o) I'm sure we'll bump into each other on one of Peckham Rye pram strolls. BC -
Any expectant mums (and dads) want to meet for coffee?

Like the idea of meeting every other Wednesday. Will get that in my calendar right away so don't double-book next time! -
Any expectant mums (and dads) want to meet for coffee?
Browncoffee replied to HOMum's topic in The Family Room Discussion
I'm so gutted - I can no longer make it tomorrow! I totally forgot I had an alternative work arrangement (my "pregnancy brain" syndrome gets worse by the minute) that I can't now get out of. Aaargghhhh! I was so...looking forward to meeting you all. Oh well, I hope it all goes well and you arrange a follow to take place soon. Keep us posted on how it all goes and future plans.... ...and have fun! BC -

It's also still in my diary and I look forward to it! My due date is 24th Sept although I'm starting to look like it should be tomorrow:-o -
When did you start your maternity leave?
Browncoffee replied to jollybaby's topic in The Family Room Discussion
I'm just under 22 weeks and plan to leave work at 34 weeks, although taking the last 2 weeks in August as annual leave so officially starting mat leave at 36 weeks. I love a bit if 'me time' and haven't enjoyed much of that in recent years, thanks to work. I imagine it'll only get worse once the baby is here, so planning to get my fill of putting my feet up, listening to my music and getting started on all those new books I've got sitting on the book shelf. I also haven't started on the shopping yet, so imagine I will still have a few things to buy closer to my due date (24th Sept according to LMP, and 19th Sept according to dating scan). Talking of which, what date do you stick with? One midwife recommended scan date which I used for a while, but another midwife said to stick to LMP date so I'm back to due date on 24th Sept. -

Still up for meeting up. 6.30pm on any week day works. Looking forward to it already! -
Thanks for all your responses. I live on Marmora Road (SE22), which is just off Forest Hill Road. I'm still looking into nurseries at this stage but was just curious. Thanks again...

20 Week Scan: Should we find out!?
Browncoffee replied to HOMum's topic in The Family Room Discussion
Wonder if the expectant mothers that posted here all went ahead to find out. I have my 22 week scan in a couple of weeks and after much debate with my husband, have now decided not to find out. I'm the increadibly curious and organised one, so it's taken a while to convince me that I CAN wait. I'm slightly impatient too so good practise for me as will need to learn to be much more patient when I become a mother in Sept:o) Best wishes to you all (including husbands, babies and bumps)! -
Any expectant mums (and dads) want to meet for coffee?
Browncoffee replied to HOMum's topic in The Family Room Discussion
Hi All, I would love to join the next meeting (if it's on a weekday evening or weekend). I also work in the city but can usually make it back to ED by 6.30pm. I'm due in September(mid - end) with my first. Look forward to meeting other expectant mums & dads. I'm sure my husband will be up for the meeting as well (if the boys are coming along). Hope you're all having a well-deserved, rested bank holiday weekend. BC -
Bit of a silly question - how do I know which schools are in my catchment area?
-
Thanks for all your replies! FH gymm sounds perfect, particularly given it's close to the station. Let me know how you get on with signing up, NorthLondoner. Also, it'll be great to know what kind of users they have (professional versus gangster;o) I look forward to hearing back!
-
Thanks for all your replies. Does anyone know the name/contact details of the Forest Hill one? I'm not very familiar with the Forest Hill area but know it's relatively close. Have been loking for a gym to join for ages. Have heard about potential changes to the Dulwich Baths one but need something reasonable in the meantime. Is the FH one close to the station? The joining offer and monthly fee sound reasonable. Much better that the ?120/month quote I'm getting Canary Wharf:-o

Re: Problems with Virgin Media internet connection?
Browncoffee replied to Browncoffee's topic in General ED Issues / Gossip
Anyone still having problems with their Virgin media internet connection? I haven't had two consecutive days of connectivity without problems, in months! I am relying a lot on my Vodafone dongle but it's driving up my phone bills. I'm considering leaving Virgin as need a connection I can rely on. Anyone having similar problems? -
Live in East Dulwich and work in .....?????????
Browncoffee replied to ratty's topic in General ED Issues / Gossip
Work in Canary Wharf.... Usually catch the P4 on Honor Oak Park Road to Lewisham and then get DLR to CW. Door to door takes about an hour....with 20 mins of it usually spent waiting for the P4:X Still prefer that to getting the Tube from London Bridge as journey is generally less stressful. Can't stand being squashed on tube! -

I hope I'm not speaking too soon but problems seems to have been solved, as connection has been fine for the last couple of days. Fingers crossed- it stays that way! We have had VM for almost a year and have had no problems with them until now. I totally recommend it and hope this was just a slight glitch. -
