  1. Found a pures today on Peckham Rye belonging to a Chihiro Matsumura if you know her please let her know to contact me, otherwise I will be handing it in at the local police station.
  2. Hi, I am potentially going to be returning to work 5 days a week in the next month (subject to job interview) I am looking for childcare recommendations for my 17 month old daughter around the East Dulwich area (ideally in close proximity to ED station/Goose Green area) Thanks Andrea
  3. I think this thread has run its course
  4. Unproven claims??? Where is your proof then that this will not have an impact on local crime?? You say there is no proof, but what more proof do you want than the fact that these kids have already commited crime and that the rates of reoffending for someone who has already been convicted are increased because of it. How is that not evidence. What evidence do you have to support your own argument. How can you garuntee me and others that there will not be an increase in local crime? convince me of that as you purport to be able to and I will agree with you, until then, dont shove your moral prowess down my neck. You dont challenge DJ you dictate your opinions as the right ones, and then cannot accept it when someones opinions differ from yours. You contradict yourself and do not back up your own arguments. Its just a shame because some of the points you raise sometimes are perfectly valid, but there is absolutely no point in discussing them because you always have to be right, even when your not.
  5. Dont waste your time or energy, a biggot never learns....
  6. I cant be botehred wasting my time replying to an attention seeking, arrogant biggot.
  7. Look DJ, I did read everything you said, if I missed something, perhaps it is the way you write and the lack of clarity than me not reading your post. It is pointless having any kind of discussion with you, you just speak hot air. You say in one breath that these teenage burglars do not go out of their way to burgle leafy areas, well this isn't going out of their way is it if this unit goes ahead, in fact ED will be very much in their way. You change your points to suit your argument, one minute you are saying that they are responsible for anything from low level vandalism through to burglary, now you say they only low level criminals or vandals. Which is it then? Make up your mind. I am quite entitled to voice my opinion, like I said it is an opinion and I am not naive enough to realise that this unit has to go somewhere, and ED is as good a place as any, but it doesn't mean I have to like it. You seem to have an issue with the Harris academy when it suits you, and then when it sits your argument you don't, it just goes to show how fickle and weak some of your arguments are. You will use anything just to argue that black is white. It is so annoying sometimes DJ that you feel the need to twist words and points to suit your own agenda and support your own argument. I have no interest in continuing this discussion with you, because you are so arrogant and ignorant that you will never accept that some peoples views are different from your own. I have said that my views will not necessarily be right or that you will agree with them, but they are my opinion which I am entitled to have. What gives you the right all of the time to think that your are correct in everything you say. Its boring
  8. DJ you really would argue that black is white wouldnt you, just for the sake of teh argument. You just said it yourself, burglars on teh whole are opportunists, so why would we want to give them the opportunity by bringing them down to ED and giving them the opportunity to be opportunists in what is a relatively affluent neighbourhood, rich pickings. To be honest where the current unit is located is hardly comparable to ED in terms of opportunity now is it. Burgling one house in ED is going to be pretty profitable on average as opposed to where the current unit is based. And yes given recent events frankly I dont want my wife walking the streets with my daughter in the day with those type of criminals in the area.
  9. Fair enough DJ I can see your point, but no one can honestly say to me that they arent in the slightest bit disturbed at the prospect of having the majority of Southwarks convicted burglars ( alot of who are reoffenders) travelling into an area of East Dulwich where there is opportunity all around. Its like putting a jar of sweets in front of a child and saying dont eat any of them. Please dont twist the words, I fully appreciate that this thing has to go somewhere, but you cant ask or expect me to be happy about the prospect, that the very guys who potentially burgle me one day, could be 200 metres down the road the next signing with the probation team.
  10. Some people love to argue for the sake of arguing. Of course no one want this here, no one wants it anywhere, whether it be in Peckham, Bermondsey, Camberwell or the Castle, so why argue the point that your fine with it, its pathetic, arguing for the sake of arguing. The fact is it has to go somewhere, and some area is going to have it forced upon them. No one in their right mind can honestly say that they are alright with the prospect of some of Southwarks biggest criminals travelling down to ED on a daily basis and walking around, people in the Castle would feel exactly the same.
  11. Paddys just come back from doing some looting Argos. Hes got 500 catalogues for sale if anyone is interested!!!
  12. James Barber did mention this some time back ad asked everyone to email our local MP... James any update???
  13. BBC reporter at Highbury Magistrates Court, John Brain, tells BBC 5 live: "the first person who appeared in the dock this morning was a 31-year-old teacher called Alexis Bailey. She pleaded guilty to being part of the looting of the Richer Sounds store in Croydon" - I guess even teachers get bored with too much holiday time on their hands.....
  14. You dont need to go to university to be successful in life!!!!! Mr Poole, I think you have it spot on!!!
  15. Otta Wrote: ------------------------------------------------------- > Totally agree that the police haven't exactly done > much for their own rep over the years. Im sorry but the police can do no right in the eyes of the public- if they use force they are being to heavy handed, if they dont then they are being to soft. Lets be fair to them they do a bloody good job with limited resources, there is no wide sopread corruption in the police force like in other countries, they are well run and take a lot of crap. They are one of those institutions where their failures and front page news but their successes are rarely reported. The stop and search practice that tehy use works, its sad, but it does. And if any one of us was in their position you would be stopping and searching the same people with the same profile. It is very sad but unfortunately true. Yes there have been issues concerning the police eg the phone hacking, teh death of the Millwall fan during the G20 etc etc, but im sorry the guys who have been out on our streets working to restore order and safety deerve a lot more respect.
  16. Just an idea, but after being around last night and seeing the positive attitud of everyone down Lordship Lane, maybe it would be a good idea for everyone to get together and show their support for local businesses and the community by getting out and filling the pubs and restaurants in the area tonight. Just to start making everyone feel safe again and show that we wont be forced to stay in our houses any more. We could get some kind of street party atmosphere going down Lorship Lane to relieve some of the tension that has been around the past couple of nights....
  17. I dont think you would even need to bother with this, you just have to walk down any of these streets before 7.45, and after 6pm on any weekday to see the differnce is available spaces, Similarly on the weekends when people are at home there is avery rarely a problem.
  18. Surely it is up to residents in this area to decide if they want to pay for controlled parking or not? If it is introduced and tehre is a knock on effect to surrounding areas as I suspect there would be, then the next area would have a consultation and again it would be there choice to introduce a CPZ or not and so on.
  19. Maybe derwent, Elsie and the bottom of Melbourne Grove should be made into permit areas as there seems to be no problems elsewhere apart from on these roads. However those on Ashbourne may object when there is a sudden drop in the number of parking spaces.
  20. Something to do with this perhaps?? http://www.bbc.co.uk/news/uk-england-london-14059127
  21. Hi - I would also be keen to play, I normally play for a team in wimbledon but I've just had a baby so would be much better to stay local. Andrea
  22. , they would prefer > people to report suspicious behaviour like you > witnessed to 999 even if it turns out to be a > false alarm. > If that is what James is saying then he really doesnt have a clue what he is talking about and should refrain from posting idiotic comments on the forum.
  23. Not sure if this is the right pace to post this, but our cat has been rather ill for the passed few days, she has cloudy eyes and seems to have trouble seeing at the moment. We took her to the vet yesterday and the vet suggested that she may have uveitus, so she gave us some medication for her, but since then her sight seems to have deteriorated. Has anyone had any experience with this before? We are a bit worried and the vets is now shut so we cant phone them until Tuesday now. Anyone any suggestions?
  24. So would it be fair to say that as she is obviously out of her depth and finding it very difficult to perform, and under scrutiny from the parenst and governing board, that perhaps the pressure is a little to much for her, and the atural reaction would be to go into defence mode, where she thinks everyone is attacking her. And because of this train of thought it might of been quite easy for her to think that she was under attack because of her colour, not neccessarily her performance.
