  1. I chatted with someone in a similar situation who said she had experienced the same and the police told her they would not go to the address where her phone was tracked to 'unless they were known to the police'. Surely this is the point when they become known?! What's all that guff about building up intelligence?
  2. If you are the woman in the turquoise dress with a small blonde boy who just got threatened on LL, I just wanted to let you know I reported this to the police as I've seen the woman who did this do similar before. Hope you two can enjoy the rest of the day.
  3. Anyone know of a shop selling pinatas locally? Need one this weekend! There's a party/fancy dress/balloon type shop in deptford, anyone know if they have them? thanks!!
  4. Billy and the mini monsters series. Also usborne I think.
  5. Does it have to be Howdens? I recently got so annoyed with their overcharging racket that I went to diy-kitchens and was v impressed. Plus you can have any colour you want. Am planning on writing a thread about the whole Howdens palaver when I get a chance!

    Burn/Scald Scar

you could try kelo-cote - I used it on a smaller scar once and it seemed to fade well, but as I only had one scar, I couldn't compare against how it would've faded naturally if you see what I mean. good luck!
  7. Strings club is near you, they do half days and always some 4yos doing ukulele, best to phone and check but I think the instrument teaching is more in the morning and the afternoons are more mixed.

  9. See my recent thread - I am getting a diy-kitchen. They were excellent value, have good upgrade options for drawers and solid backs (unlike howdens). Very responsive on the phone and at the showroom - will let you know once it's installed! They do custom colours so you can pick any colour you want and even have different coloured carcasses and doors. http://www.eastdulwichforum.co.uk/forum/read.php?25,1903475,1903475
  10. Was your little boy out and about in ED yesterday (Friday)? About three years old with a yellow coat and red and blue stripy hat. Please pm me, (nothing to worry about).
  11. Have you found him? We stroked him on Dovercourt on Thursday morning and he seemed well.
  12. I was just talking about this with my son today. My fave, which still makes me laugh, is my grandpa's "I've seen more fat on a butchers pencil!"
  13. oh crikey! Thanks for the heads up, hadn't thought of that at all..
  14. I know a few of you have laundry chutes - please would you tell me what you have at the top and bottom? I would really like to put a cupboard over the top with a door which flaps open like this - but have you got a better idea? And what's underneath? Just a laundry basket sitting in a cupboard? Are there any snags I should watch out for? thanks!

    VAT Inspection

I work at a small company, <10 staff. We're about to have a VAT inspection, interested to hear any advice or experiences anyone would be kind enough to offer.
  17. I'm thinking of getting one, but would like to know, if you have one was it worth it? What's the biggest thing you can put down it? I originally thought it sounded like a great idea but now thinking if I need a compost box for banana skins etc then I might as well put all my scraps in the compost. Would be grateful for any opinions!
  18. I heard it! Last night (Friday) but couldn't give a time as I was half asleep. I was sceptical when I read the op, having only previously heard the lower 'gear change' noise but yes, this sounds like a high whistle, would have been worrying had I not seen this post!
  19. We are considering doing up our kitchen and thinking about moving the gas meter. Have you had yours moved outside? I was thinking of moving it round to the side of the house to avoid the ugly box on the front & would like to hear what others did. Can anyone sensible point out any drawbacks with that plan? (I don't think the box would be big enough to hinder side return access.)
  20. We had a good experience of George du Toit, Google him as he has a few separate clinics. His nurse was very methodical and this meant we had faith in his diagnosis.
  21. Can I ask another qu - thinking of doing the whole (Victorian) house so would be plenty of suspended UFH under wood - how has the heating been in the recent cold weather? A friend had theirs done and thinks that an old house might struggle to warm up on very cold days. V grateful for any thoughts.
  22. I'd be interested to hear how many schools have told their parents. I have kids at two schools and heard this from one school but concerned that the other school have said nothing. Surely all schools nearby would've been told?
  23. Not natural but if you're in pain, aspirin gets my vote everytime. I regularly get migraines and have been hospitalised with one before. There was some study (linked below I think) that showed a high dose of aspirin at onset can kill a migraine, but I've found a regular dose can control the pain as effectively. People also recommend 2 aspirin dissolved in coke but I haven't seen any difference vs in water. http://www.nhs.uk/news/2010/04April/Pages/Aspirin-and-migraine.aspx
  24. Did you report to 101?
  25. George du toit, just saw him at the shard and liked that they did individual pricks rather than the usual 6 in 1 skin prick test device, meaning I had total confidence in their diagnosis.
