  1. Great throughfare there and whatever opened would certain be welcome. A few shops round there serioulsy need a re-vamp.
  2. Bottom line, anything is better than 3 empty shops (all of the old W.Glazing), boarded up on LL. So we will prob have to wait another 6 months, and remember Parkhill propoerties own it, so don't expect a tee t-shop owned locally....
  3. Starbucks, the new plague of London.....damn right phew G&B got in first!!!
  4. How do you know that 8k is set aside for it?
  5. I also went on Saturday evening, we very later afternoon, and again the set-up is much better, simple bar layout.....I asked for a recommendation and explained my favs, and i got to taste a bit before ordering my glass, then enjoyed it so much bought a bottle as well (which was added to my bar tab and wrapped and bagged, chilled) and wondered off home to enjoy it. Always liked G&B, but now the deli is appearing too and the space is much bigger....big plus....in the summer when they open the boors in the bar, it will become even more appealing.
  6. They are no the worst looking block of estates, but all the same, they certainly are not the best. i think the initial proposal, knock a few down, sell to private developers and use that cash to build smarter "non estate" looking flats/houses....although still would prefer a nice park, all private housing or an M&S ;-).
  7. Please excuse poor spelling and grammar on last post - raging hangover
  8. Very good EDKiwi.....Shows how efficent local coucil contracters are, 5 weeks to dig something up ;-)....anyhow any ideas on what is going to go there.....hopefully not another council "yes i think thats want they would want" sign. Sadly i think a good bet is that they would do anything and leave it empty.....hopefully someone can prove me wrong!
  9. I will be in there on Saturday to spend a few hard earned notes, even if it is things i don't need.....simply to invest in LL, Local family run businesses and rejoice that an empty shop have been filled with something other than a takeaway.
  10. Mark - great map....
  11. Something was breifly mentioned on the News relating to Greenwich town centre only.....they are considering i believe, it would work the same was as the congestion charging but be seperate, in terms of active times and cost.
  12. This place is not nice at all, personal preference avaiod at all costs and hopfully it is shutdown.
  13. Hey Jeremy, I enjoy the occasional scour of the Southwark planning database - All you need do is type in the road name you are interested in, and all the planning applications since 2000 are there. http://194.168.41.26/cgi-bin/acolnetcgi.exe?ACTION=UNWRAP&RIPSESSION=%7B%5B%2A%211D1A020B050304731D3C3D31617C041E28361620222F34223B7660001036350A0C1E372B316B730B033D3916212F332D271F3D26253A2821217660001429241D2A3220262C022E2D2E273B2A2A62142026222720102F33292A271B01797F797F7C646A77617C057E7B606075%21%2A%5D%7D Also to help you identify the exact location of the planning request, use this website - handy to picture which building they are talking about: http://213.86.249.173/planaccessgui/southwark.html

  15. Heard from a friend that when there at the weekend, great little shop, well alid out, chilled out staff and high quality clothes at ver reasonable prices, espcially as the sale is on. Shame it is off on melbourne grove, but worth a visit, if you want something smart and unique....
  16. I think this shop looks great, and good to see smart places opening for people to use at the weekend - i shll be visiting this weekend.
  17. Lighting on Grove Vale, from the station to lordship lane could be better and clearer, the west side of the road hardly seems to have any and the one that are there are yellow and give a pretty poor light.
  18. Is that the library on Grove Vale?
  19. I am pretty sure the Old Unwins is going to be a Bombay Byicle takeaway, something i have only seen in clapham, sadly.
  20. I drove past this last night and noticed that it looked like it was being dug up, and possibly replaced. I know it was on the 2007 wishlist for ED (other thread), anyone know anything further....they may be up to something else, but fingers crossed it is being changed, however tad concerned to what....
  21. On a saturday give her a tour of the market on Northcross road, have lunch at the Blue mountain cafe wonder aound the shops and then drinks in the bishop.....
  22. HHP are the advertisers of the propoerty for sales and the quote on the advert says, it is 3 seperate shops, however the vendor would be willing to merge into 1 large one, perhaps they have merged 2 for M&S and the other for the White Stuff.....Just a thought..http://www.ukpropertyshop.co.uk/estate-agents/hindwoods-hunter-payne-2462.shtml
