Change. Its a terrible thing!

Fake news! Typical ED residents feeling jealous of all the wonderful things Sydenham has to offer. Bigger houses, more parks for the kids, better transport, nicer gyms, less of the Clapham crowd etc
-
Really? I was outside the gym at the time and saw nothing.
-
I would recommend Sydenham. Transport there is much better via access to three train lines (via Sydenham, Lower Sydenham and Sydenham Hill/Penge East). I am regularly at Canary Wharf in 30mins door to door. It will also further benefit from the Bakerloo Line extension passing via New Cross, with the possibility of directly linking to Lower Sydenham in the future. Sydenham also has improving schools and a number of lovely parks. While the choice of restaurants is not as great as ED, two of the restaurants have recently made the Top 10 in London on TripAdvisor. The Greyhound should re-open in the summer after its refurbishment, and rumour has it that a cinema will also open this year. The local gym is great, with excellent access to new equipment and classes. And its far cheaper, with larger houses. The Lawrie Park Triangle, Cator Road and The Thorpes are all examples of nice pockets to live. The locals are friendly as well. A good mix of young couples and families are regularly moving to the area. And it borders the trendy areas of Penge and Crystal Palace. Worth a look.

Southwark council tax bill hitting the door mat for 2017 - 2018

Lewisham Council is up a similar amount. The councils need money, having limited increases in recent years. -
Re: Bakerloo line extension - have your say for Peckham Rye

Unsure why people are so keen on an interchange with QRP. The proposed Bakerloo Line Extension already intersects with New Cross Gate on the Overground. Seems a bit much to have two interchanges on the same line? -
Better than stepping on dog p00. I have had an abundance of slugs since I moved in. Maybe the wet weather earlier this summer has brought them into the streets ...

Yes, Loz is right. You can get a photo taken at the Olympic Park. I think thats your best bet!
-
Lets not forget the lead choir singer at the Opening Ceremony is from Forest Hill! Local(ish) enough!
-
No problems at Canada Water - have been to the Olympic Village twice since Friday and its been just fine getting on the Jubilee Line - not crammed and much better than expected. Same for coming back - no problem getting back to FH either.

Not sure which days you are thinking of, but most are open past 11 later in the week. For example, House of Tippler is open as follows: Thurs: till 12:30am Fri+Sat: till 2am

Its one of the main things ED is lacking. I am a big fan of the Ritzy, and would welcome something similar in ED - but maybe on a smaller scale. The question is location? I understand the old cinema was pulled down a long time ago - which is a shame. The only cinema-like building I can think of is the Forest Hill Wetherspoons. I would love to see that building turned back into a cinema sometime ...
