Weird, as I too have to think it's a boy thing. My two girls never had leaky nappies and now our little boy has had several without even having very heavy or full nappies. We use Huggies organic cotton nappies (I used Huggies with the girls) and the fit is fine and snug just depends where, as Moi23 suggests, his willy is pointing (up or down), sorry if too much information :-$

expressing probs/milk supply? please advise!
candj replied to hellosailor's topic in The Family Room Discussion
Hello sailor- at 7 weeks your milk supply is pretty well established. I think it's the stress of anticipating the pumping that is causing let down to be slow as saffron suggested. It's easier said than done but try to relax, think of or look at your baby. I used to express in the baby's room surrounded by baby smells and things. Can also recommend mothers milk tea from health matters-whether it works or not I couldn't tell you but it has a calming and relaxing effect which is the real goal. I also used a medela double pump which I found really good but you need to be consistent with it and give it a bit of time. Milk supply is highest first thing in the morning as well as 2am. Good luck sounds like you're doing a fantastic job! -
We did this two years ago with a then 4 1/2 and 2 year old. We had small tvs in the headrest of our car for videos which I highly recommend. We also limited our driving to max 5 hours a day. Not sure about driving overnight as it wouldn't be totally comfortable and you wouldn't be well rested not to mention how tired your husband would be in the morning. Agree with above lots of snacks, drinks and a satnav absolutely essential. The Reststops along the way are pretty child friendly and well stocked. Good luck have fun!

How on earth did you get to Green Park using Boyles Law? Surely it's Knightsbridge.

Battersea power station? -
I've also seen cranberry tablets and powder before perhaps try health matters. My youngest daughter had this recently and turns out it was thrush caused by the fact she was wiping herself either the wrong way or not very well at school (she's 3 1/2). Just check to see if it's not this (red rash and burning when weeing). We used canesten to clear this up. Good luck hope Little one is better soon.

I guess that I am thankful southwark never ploughed our street during the snow, fixed the potholes in a timely fashion, never swept the heaps of slippery rotting leaves from the pavement last autumn until I rang as it means the tree butchers won't be here anytime soon. Shame for the other trees as it's so lovely this time of year.

Hi Emma, if you do a search you'll find several threads about activities for babies/toddlers and children. Someone was even good enough to do a list that people kept adding to, but can't remember who it was (someone please enlighten me?!) Good luck with the new job!

Brown's hotel on albemarle street is lovely and very child friendly. We have done afternoon teas there and they have always treated the children like mini adults. Have a lovely time.

Hi Sanity Girl - Take your best friend shopping with you and have her give her honest opinion about how things look. Also, try things on in a fitting room with a three way mirror, ie, you can see your back side and your side and ask yourself if you like what you see with regards to what you are wearing. Agree that bodies change after several children and not necessarily because of weight gain, but just the shape in general! -C x Very helpful post giggirl. I have drawers (yes I had drawers built for my shoes) of Manolos and Louboutins I can't/don't/refuse to wear because of running after children! Humpf.

My children have had this after tummy bugs, as well. It takes one to two weeks to resolve itself (perhaps slightly longer for our younger one) in our experience. Agree with above, if you're not happy and your little one is not happy or well go back to your GP. Otherwise, I'd say just wait as it will resolve itself. Good luck. ps- I can recommend a private paediatrician if you are desperate - PM me.

Just to echo everyone's sentiment dummies are really useful. My two girls had them only for sleeping and it was very easy to get them to settle. Nothing to feel guilty about and certainly much easier to take away than a thumb!

No doubt my emotion is exacerbated by the every two hourly feeds I did last night with soon to be saggy breasts, but it brought tears to my eyes. Thanks for sharing.

Rules for your child - what is age appropriate?
candj replied to ryedalema's topic in The Family Room Discussion
Sorry and just to add I think it's important to explain why we have rules - washing hands so we don't get sick, covering mouth so we don't make others sick with our cough, so on and so forth. Then they understand and can sort of follow the logic. My eldest once 'told' on a babysitter who didn't make her wash her hands after the loo ( which I kind of found amusing). -
Rules for your child - what is age appropriate?
candj replied to ryedalema's topic in The Family Room Discussion
Doesn't seem too much considering she's almost four. I think it's good to set a few boundaries but also remember that they are just children and still very young. The ones we have in our house are: -always washing hands after loo and before eating -using please and thank you to everyone including younger siblings -taking shoes off when coming inside or going inside anyone else's home -not talking with mouth full for fear of choking as well as being unsightly -covering mouth while coughing My two 6 and almost 4 are pretty good at remembering most of them and I feel it becomes more habit than anything. -
How dreadful and utterly heartbreaking. Sympathies to the friends and family of this poor little girl.

I just bought a load from amazon for boys because I couldn't find any although have seen them at Ed and Dulwich Trader (after the fact).

We have a miele, in fact we have two and love them. They have one specially for animal hair but ours isn't and works on slate, wood floors, carpets and rugs according to the setting. We went through two dysons in the past and kept breaking them (probably didn't help that we had a builder hoovering up nails with them).

My consultant allowed me to use piriton tablets and beconase nasal spray with my horrible hayfever. Good luck, I feel for you!

Where to find Expectant Mums and Mums with New Babies???
candj replied to Sparkle&Spin's topic in The Family Room Discussion
Try the local cafes - Jacks, Pretty Traditional and that new one on Peckham Rye that used to be the old electrical shop.
