i donate loads and loads of really good children's stuff - as i am sure do many parents here in nappy valley - yet they never have much more for sale in the 'children's department' than three stained baby-grows. anyone know why that is? the place should be coming down with boden!

the girl i am referring to did know what an 'escort' agency is. though i find it very difficult to believe that the JC didn't - and that they choose to support such practice. same girl rang the agency and was quoted ?800 for an evening of 'escorting' and was told that what she did in private was her own business. i really doubt though that anyone forking out that amount of money isn't going to expect their money's worth. she is seriously considering it.

Hi pellmel, i too am sorry to hear about your loss. i know it can be devastating. This is only a very very personal opinion but one that i have contemplated for years. I think that the slightly superstitious maxim that you shouldn't tell anyone you are pregnant till after the three month mark, does much to sustain the taboo that miscarriages shouldn't be talked about. if you end up having to tell your friends and sometimes even your family that you have miscarried even before you got to tell them that you were pregnant, then of course it naturally becomes very difficult for people to know what to say to you and know how to help you. And even more difficult for you to broach the subject or open up a much needed discourse. Very likely, it is harder for people to know how to share in your loss if they have not shared in your joy. of course i understand people adhering to the maxim because the first trimester is the most likely period in which to miscarry, and adherence therefore works for people who know they probably won't want to talk about about miscarriage and who know they will wish to remain private. But i do sometimes think that we get ourselves caught up in that tradition (for want of a better word) without really questioning it and then find it doesn't work for us when it is almost too late. i think this is something that worked in a time when people - women especially - were not supposed to talk about such things - and we have let it carry over. i am not for one minute saying that this is what you did - or assuming this to be anything approximating your circumstances - but i too would like to see the taboo lifted off talking about miscarriages and i think this is worth considering. i see it is quite some time since you posted and i really hope things are looking good for you and your partner now. X

well, maybe VBC, but someone might yet want to say that the wages are not justified. i can't imagine who would want to say such a thing, but maybe when they all get in from the pub later on there might be some of the opinion that the wages of those magnificent men are not justified and i think it would only be fair to let them sound off.
