  1. I had my LO there last September. It was a good experience. I did go with community midwives which may have made the difference. The facilities were great, although the pool took a long time to fill! I would definitely have my next one there. There is also a monthly meet and greet there. I think it's on the first Tuesday? Double check. And you can see the facilities and ask questions.
  2. I've thought the same a number of times at this intersection too. As well as underhill and Barry Road where another White van often parks blocking the view!
  3. I think a nice bed and breakfast/ boutique hotel pub type business would be of much more use... But I imagine the investment needed for that puts the idea out of the running... But wouldn't it be nice!?
  4. When we went in August it was about an hour; they're available for questions too as I'd say it could go up to about 1.5. We thought it was very good and used it for part of the birth of our daughter. Great rooms!
  5. Another recommendation for both Bloomers and The Fitting Room locally. Both ladies super helpful and have purchased great bras and had very helpful service from both.
  6. I just witnessed a blatant drug deal between man in a black car (I don't know cars well enough to say which type) pulling up next to the butchers, then a young lad (not more then 16-17) slips something into his window, in which he then partially rolls down the window and passes something back to the lad. No words exchanged happened in less then a minute. I know I don't want this to become the norm in the neighbourhood if I can stop it. Have reported it.
  7. I would find a Saturday a perfect day. 8:30am is too early for me personally; but I'd be up for a 10am start as an ideal!... Also 3:30 would probably be too late, as I work and we're finding that we're out of the house doing things by the afternoon, and I'd think I'd end up missing more at this time. Please let me know when you do decide, as I really want to start a pregnancy yoga, and know a friend that does too.
  8. Hi All, I think this sounds like great. Please count me in. Living in Dulwich Borders for a number of years now, but still don't know many people in the area, as is the "London way" so let me know when is good to meet up. I could meet up friday for a natter if others can too. :)
  9. Hello ED Mummies and Mummies to be! So far everyone on here is excitedly expecting baby number two! And I'm betting that you all have a lot of great advice; but I'd also love to chat/ meet up with any first time Mum's with little one's expected in Autumn. I'm due 14th of September. Sherry x
  10. I am ready for them to stop too!! They went on for ages yesterday night and just when I'd think, finally they've finished..They would start more!! :(
  11. Du Vin in Brighton. You will not be disappointed. My partner and I go there at least once a year. The last time in September. It is great, and if you search for a deal you can usually find it reasonably priced. But search the deals out, some are listed on their webpage (I would attach it but have not figured that out yet...) It's just off the beach like a 30 second walk. And near the lanes to wander through. We've had breakfast there, always lovely. And used the bar. They have a full restaurant but we always end up somewhere in town. I would give this a huge recommendation. The rooms are excellent with their own little entrances. Go there you'll love it. :)
  12. I used to live in Cornwall and travelled the route up country to London on a fortnightly basis. I always chose the south circular; M3; A303; A30; A38 (although I was in Truro so followed the A30 all the way down, and don't know the A38 stretch well) But I always had a clear road both ways (apart from the snow closing the road once!), and preferred it to the M4/M5 every time. I would be door to door in 5.5 hours (an hour being taken up just getting from the top of Cornwall to Truro) And I recommend MM suggestion for stops Heston's being on the west bound carriage way. Also there is Stonehenge on route. The view is beautiful. Enjoy the trip. I'm rather jealous I love it there. Looe is beautiful and Fowey beyond.
  13. I wonder if it is the film crew that have left all of the numerous leaps of bags of rubbish on the corner of langton rise and wood vale then, at the cemetery entrance. I was no impressed when I passed it at about 8pm this evening.

    Netball

I too would be interested in this if it is for beginners who not only don't remember the rules, but may have been out of a the habit of much exercise in awhile ;) Sherry
  15. Thanks Bonniebird! The times are very helpful! It was the closure of the Blackwall tunnel this morning that made me think I needed to know extra routes!! And happy to see that public transport may actually be doable!! Thanks Again. S
  16. I just accepted a job in Forest Gate, Newham, and would appreciate hearing if anyone travels this direction regularly, and if so what are the best routes. I do drive, and would also consider public transport (although I think that would take a great deal longer?) Any advice would be greatly received. Thanks Sherry
  17. That was helpful for me too, thanks! I have a friend travelling to see me (forgot about the marathon...) And to add to the question how much of the day is taken up with difficult road closures for motorists?
  18. The "word" I can't stand hearing is Fanks instead of Thanks; (I would like it even more if people could actually say Thank You!) Actually, it's laziness of articulation and inability to speak clearly that drives me nuts, but Fanks really does drive me mad. lol (I'm getting old aren't I? lol)
  19. I love walking through the cemetery and read about all of the loved and interesting people who have passed away. What always makes me sad though are the unkept graves, I would really love to be able to tend them! I wonder if it is ok? Does anyone know? Or know who I would ask for permission? They would be cared for and I would feel happier to see them, and I could do some gardening! ( I miss that with my current flat.)They all should be looked after so many of them have touching stories with them...
