  1. Hey, My son is 21 months old, so I figured it is time to put him on his first bike! Ideally, I'd like to go for a small bike with no pedals, so he'd get the hang of it. Any tips and recommendations regarding models and where to buy would be much appreciated! Thank you
  2. Thanks a lot everybody, much appreciated! :))
  3. Hello, After a bad camping experience last year at Epping Forest, we thought we'd try our luck again this spring. We heard there is a camping site which is for families only (i.e. NO super loud music deep into the early hours of the morning...). Has anybody been in such a site, or heard about it? Any recommendations will be much appreciated! Thank you, Yabo
  4. As far as I know, some Boots stores rent them too Good Luck (tu)
  5. Hello, Yesterday my wife & I took our 3 mounths old son to see both GP and paediatrician in yet another attempt to tackle reflux. The pediatrician completely contradicted a treatment method the GP recommended just before we saw her ("ooh, I definitely wouldn't do that"). After a quick discussion between them (which we didn't hear) the GP stuck by her initial proposed medication, so both I and missus were left rather bewildered.. As we are both non-English, I was wondering whether anyone can explain the difference between the two roles, which is superior, and who should we listen to really? (we won't hold it against you ;-) )
  6. Thank you very much everyone. :))

  8. Hello, we are due to fly with our little newborn in a few weeks' time. We are a little concerned about taking our buggy with us, it is a Bugaboo Cameleon, and as he is still very little, we will need the cot, which is quite large. Has anyone travelled with Easyjet with this kind of buggy and cot before? Any advice on the necesarry procedure will be welcome. Thank you (tu)
  9. Hello, Our 4 week?s old little tyrant seems to be having the same symptoms. The only thing I can add is a remedy called Gaviscon that my wife was prescribed by our GP. It is a powder that dissolves in water and meant to treat gastric reflux. We find it helpful, as quickly as 5 minutes after he takes it. Clearly it treats the problem, but doesn?t solve it.. but we happily settle for that at the moment. Those fits of crying for hours are unbearable. We also "gave in" and tried a dummy for the first time this week. It certainly helps in keeping the little prince calmer. Just wanted to say a big big thank you to all of you who commented, I got a Word file full of tips on where to take it from here. Good Luck Helen and thank you for starting this helpful thread. (tu)

    Smart phones

Hello, My advise to you is to map your needs and see where you are on a scale between "serious" phone and a "fun" one. As a Blackberry user for 3 years I can say that if you look for a "serious" phone, ie more business oriented, choose one of theirs (but God, please don't even think about getting a Storm II). If you look for more of the light things, ie apps, games, internet surfing (BB has them all, but is no match to the ipone on any of those) then it is my humble opinion that no Blackberry model will challenge the ipohne, or even the Galaxy for that matter. ... Tough choice. indeed. One more tip: stay away from t-mobile, I joined them 5 months ago, and when it comes to customer service, it is so poor it's hard to believe. Good luck (tu)
  11. Hello, We are planning a day trip by car to Epping Forest tomorrow. Any tips regarding where to go (with a newborn), a good place to eat etc. will be very appreciated. Thank you
  12. I took friends recently to The Bishop, the food (bearing in mind it's a pub) was very nice. Otherwise, Palmerston never failed us, with/without friends.. Another good option is Tandoori Nights, which is, suprisingly, an Indian joint. Have fun! (tu)
  13. Hello all, In the past 6 months, I saw at least 3 times a woman hanging in and around train stations in our area, telling people that she's been beaten and robbed and in need for money to get back home. She's in her late twenties, I'd say, with dark hair and freckles on her face. Sometimes she looks as if she's got fresh bruises. She's quite persistent (the first time I saw her she stood by me and when I opened my wallet and said "sorry, I'm out of change", she replied "well, you got notes"...). Anyway, don't fall for her story, as it's a con, she's doing it very often, at least around Herne Hill and North Dulwich stations. I'm not saying you shouldn't give if you feel like it, but just be aware that her story is complete rubbish.
  14. Hey mate, Sorry to hear that, i had my XR650 stolen a few years ago... I wish the next vehicle of the thief would be a wheelchair. :'(
