  1. Penguin68 - do you know which agency/website your friends use? We haven't had any bookings from the website we're registered with.
  2. I live on Overhill Road and wouldn't want it closed for a through route, albeit that cars do go too fast down the hill. I would like to see the road re-surfaced as it seems to miss out whilst other roads are being re-surfaced. As a busy road, it could do with some TLC. As for bikes being allowed to go down the one-way, I think this is a fair suggestion.
  3. Hi Does anyone know of any local or London based groups for Taiwanese people in the UK or people with connections to Taiwan? Thank you for your help
  4. What about the site (which has been closed since before I moved to ED 7 yrs ago ) between William Rose and the Irish Shop. I always wonder why that site isn't used? I love Pretty's and the cafe next door. Its crazy that landlords don't recognise the value of a successful, established retail business, especially when retail is generally in decline! Being obsessed with money and increasing rent will just lead to a further decline in the high street.
  5. Does anyone know why there was a police blockade on Melbourne Grove this morning? Thanks

  8. Hickory So sorry to hear what happened but glad that you were looked after. Thanks for the post as it is good to be reminded to take care in the evenings, even near home.
  9. I live on Overhill Road and my family and I love it. Equidistant from 2 parks, the woods, the Hornimann... So many lovely open spaces. Good size houses, gardens and great neighbours too. Depending on which side of the road you are there are also amazing views over London.
  10. Sorry to hear about the tyres. Thanks for letting us know as we live in the area.
  11. Hi all Haven't been on the thread in ages! Glad everyone is well and interesting to hear about FB group. Wondered if anyone is going to take toddlers to the Hornimann next Tuesday afternoon (28th August) for the 3 Billy Goats Gruff performance? Thinking of taking Oli out of nursery for it and hoping its a nice afternoon for a picnic S X
  12. Love the idea! Especially if evening viewing would be at 7.30 or 8pm rather than 6pm or 9pm as seems to be the way at mist mainstream cinemas and always puts me off as parent of young children dealing with bedtime and early starts!,
  13. We live on Overhill road. Been here for five years and love it, especially the view! Great neighbours. I echo all the points made re shops on Forest Hill Road as well as the cemetary and parks as they are great for walking t dogs and children :-)

I was never brave enough last time but if it's gOod then I may start going. Ruth - great idea re Thursday. I'd love to come and apologies for not being organised to have initiated an invitation to host as I had said I would! Bit nervous to host a toddler tea for first time to be honest so will take tips and host next. Let me know what time and where.
  22. Hi Everyone M I'm aiming to come along today to the gardens. I'll aim for 10.30 too. C u there. Stephanie
  23. Ruth - congrats on the birth of baby Thea! Hope you're home soon. Anna - I am around Monday without toddler and would love to venture out with Gabriella! Bishop sounds good for me. I must dig out my mums the word card. Let me know if Monday suits Xxx
  24. Pippa Huge congratulations, especially after such a long haul! Having had my reflexology and hypnobirthing (fear release) on Sunday, I went into labour yesterday and gave birth to a 8lb 13oz (4kg for those younguns who do metric!) baby girl at 9.30pm last night. a smooth home birth, as planned, thankfully. We have decided to call her Gabriella. I had the Oakwood midwives with me and would like to sing their praises too. The midwives clearly love what they do and it shines through in the experience I have had with the birth of both my children. Now I have had my baby, I'll be ready to join a meet up! Hope to see some/all of you soon. Steph Xxx
