We are sad to be selling our beautiful hand-made larder as there is no room for it in our new kitchen. We had it made to fit in next to the chimney breast so it is wide and shallow - perfect for food storage as it's easy to find things! It has LED lighting which is triggered by opening the door, and has oak trimmed spice racks built into the doors. It has lovely oak trims at the top and bottom and comfortably holds enough food for a family of four. Dimensions: 204cm high 95cm wide 39cm deep It cost us about £3k but happy to sell for £750 ono. Collection from Nunhead nr Ivydale School.

Thanks again! Think we're nearly there - all on our own ;-)

Many thanks for this - really helpful. K

Hi, My partner and I are totally clueless with technology and want to get our internet for home and mobile devices set up so it is as safe as possible for our kids and possibly with time limits on devices. Does anyone know someone local who can help us with this? I'm sure it's relatively straightforward, but really, we are rubbish! Could do with someone who can walk us through it all - any recommendations would be great. Thanks, Kirsty

Hi all My nine yr old needs to get his eyesight tested and may need glasses. Any recommendations of local opticians that are particularly good with kids and/or have a good selection of frames? As you can imagine, he's not keen... Thanks a lot K

Holiday club starting July 24th
KikiMac replied to Holiday Champs's topic in The Family Room Discussion
I love the sound of this Aaron, but I need something for the last week of August and all the holiday clubs seem to have shut up shop by then. What are we supposed to do for that last week?! Any chance you're considering extending? ;-) K -
Fernando has been sorting out our front hedge with amazing precision for a few years now, but this year for the first time, I asked him to do some work in our garden too. It needed mowing, weeding and a general tidy up. When I got back from work and saw what he'd done I was literally gobsmacked - I just walked around the garden saying "wow!". Our garden has never looked so tidy and well manicured! It looked like he'd cut the lawn with a pair of nail scissors! I couldn't be happier. Highly recommend Fernando. He also is a delight to deal with: professional, polite and reliable, which makes the whole process a joy.

Hi all We're looking for friendly sports clubs for our boys to join for this season. They are 5 and 7 and we'd try anything really... tennis, football, rugby... Nunhead, ED, Peckham area preferably. Thanks
-
I went yesterday - gorgeous and no queue! Bit difficult to tell when you will be queueing round the corner and when not - during the week. If it is a hot weekend, just take for granted you will be queueing, but its lovely when you're in. Lido-style so you're on the concrete if you're not lucky enough to get a space on the decking.

Hi, We're still on the search for a good football, rugby, cricket, volleyball, lacrosse, ultimate Frisbee session for 5s and upwards on a Saturday or Sunday morning. We've tried a few of the local football sessions but they've not really grabbed our small ones so it would be great to hear if you go to a brilliant team sport session in the Peckham/Nunhead/ED area. Thanks a lot.

We have similar issues ie not very experienced 5 and 6 yr old who would like to get into football but intimidated by the kick-abouts at school. Currently going to Athenlay on Saturday mornings but can't see any actual 'coaching' going on. It's a lovely club and Danny is great but it's really just an extended kick about and don't think my sons are feeling any more confident. Would love to find a place that really coaches that age group.

Dan and Aria came out this afternoon to mend a leaking pipe - they came an hour after I called and sorted the problem in about ten minutes. Couldn't have been quicker and more efficient. Great service.

Tiny new car park in Peckham rye park
KikiMac replied to dimples's topic in General ED Issues / Gossip
Hate to interrupt the rant-fest but my understanding is that the existing car park is going to be a (proper) kids play area so they're just replacing it with the new one, which looks about the same size to me. -
As it says! Thanks.

Dulwich Leisure Centre..poor management
KikiMac replied to Phidan's topic in General ED Issues / Gossip
Just to add to the long list of complaints... The water taps in the gym have NEVER worked properly in the 2-3 years I've been going! I have given up asking when they are going to be mended. They're taps! How difficult, in 2016 East Dulwich, is it to get WATER coming out of TAPS?! -
Booster seats in cars - safety question
KikiMac replied to KikiMac's topic in The Family Room Discussion
Many thanks for the responses. Of course we are now looking for a second high-backed booster seat for the four-year old... in case anyone has one to sell! -
We're just about to ditch the fiddly full car seat thing (hooray!) for our nearly 4 yr old and was going to buy a backless booster for the 5 year old and stick the younger one in the high-backed Kiddy Pro booster. ...Until I googled it and read about safety risks of backless boosters. What do you wise family-roomers think/know about the issue? Should I be investing in another Kiddy Pro instead?

After a big sort out I have a couple of bags of toys and books - in used but decent condition - and would love to give them to someone / somewhere that would benefit. Any ideas?

Any suggestions for places to take an adventurous 5 yr old who loves flumes etc? Deptford Wavelengths doesn't have a 'fun' session on tomorrow morning (Weds) so looking for other local-ish places. Thanks!

I can empathise with your situation bonacara - we had a similar one with my now 3yr old (happened when he was 2). My other half was very anxious about the anaesthetic part of the treatment so we went (privately, unfortunately) to the Eastman Dental Hospital on Greys Inn Road where we saw Ms Anand who did a brilliant job putting on 2 crowns with no anaesthetic or sedation but a lot of finger biting! I'm guessing she's used to it. She just pushed them onto his teeth, so no pain involved, for him at least.

Hi, our nearly five year old loves both BMX and track (and pavement!) cycling at the moment. He's just growing out of his Frog bike and we're trying to decide what kind of bike to go for next that will work for both settings. Any advice from knowledgable family roomers? Thanks!
