  1. I did the training before I had children. Now i have my own kids I don't know how the other students managed it. We had essays presentation and portfolios to complete. On practical placements we were given skills books to get signed off however I think this has changed slightly now. Its exhausting and full on but its so rewarding. Some of the other students worked as HCAs for agencies or hospital bank in spare time to top up money.
  2. Qualified in may 2007. Completed the nursing adult diploma branch. We received a small wage every month im not sure if they still offer this?
  3. Mini weetabix? Not sure what the sugar content is like though??
  4. Good thread. I've talked to another mum about going for number three but logistically and financially I've heard 3 is tough?
  5. Thanks for all your views on this one. I have alot in common with the other mum, However I have told her directly not to sswear in front of my 2.5 year old but no change. There have been some other factors in our friendship that have made me question it.I appreciate none of us are perfect!! Most people i kmow who have sworn in front of my daughter immediately apologies etc which I've got no prob with we all have our moments. good point dulwich girl thanks for your post, I agree its not something I want to do telling an adult how to behave.
  6. Thanks for your replies. I agree saffron after numerous times of asking her to tone it down etc she still does it, I doubt she will change. Pickle yes it is casual swearing and yesterday she used the C word in front of her 7 month old which left me shocked. Luckily my daughter and her daughter ran off and were out of ear shot. I just find it totally unnecessary.
  7. I know we all slip up from time to time but this I feel this other mum does not know where to draw the line with her really bad language etc
  8. I know another mum who uses the F word in front of my daughter when i have asked her before to politely be careful she still continues to do it the next time I see her. I also find the topics of conversation she talks about in front of the children really uncomfortable. I dont like tto turn away the hand of friendship however I really feel like I've had enough. She is keen to be friends but im not sure if the feeling is mutual. Not sure if anyone else has dealt with situations like this?
  9. Second due south
  10. Our daughter will turn 3 in december this year so she will receive early years funding as from january 2013. I know its still a while off yet but im wondering if people used the full 15 hours for their three year old or just some of it? I will have child number 2 by then so im wondering if i should use the full entitlement?
  11. I couldn't be bothered with that skirt thing and top I think it would irritate me!

  13. Bit of a bizarre question but did people wear anything whilst in tthe pool or did they feel fine about getting in the nude?
  14. Hi molly, thanks for your post. Have seen your previous posts on here aand kknow you have some experience I this field. We dont have a water tank we are combi boiler? So id have to look up if this would work?
  15. I love baths and swimming etc too. Just thinking the warm water would relax me? Just spoken to hubby he was wondering if the birthing pool will cause condensation in the living room? Im wondering if its worth the hassle as could always fill up our bath tub at home only means you can't crouch etc in the bath?
  16. I've looked into hiring a pool and it does seem a tad pricey and some companies seem to charge more for more time etc Think I'll look on forum nearer the time and ebay to buy need to check the logistics of our hot water system
  17. Convex did you buy or hire the pool?
  18. I was just wondering if people preferred the home water birth option or found that giving birth at home without the birthing pool just as good? Also, did people hire the birthing pool or buy one? I've read on the internet on other forums that hiring the birthing pool is more expensive but i do like the idea of someone coming to take it away etc. Plus if things don't go according to plan and I end up being transferred for whatever reason we wont be stuck with it?

  23. Im due in September, My daughter will be two years and nine months by this point. I have two baby slings so im thinking in the very early days new born in the sling and toddler im the maclaren when we venture out.
