Brilliant bed for a child in the shape of a tee pee from Wayfair with a handy storage or pullout trundle. We purchased this in 2017 for £299. There are a bunch of stickers on it but it is in really good condition and it would be a shame for it to go to waste. No mattress as we are using that for the new bed. The bed has been dismantled and all the pieces kept together. £125 ONO Collection from Forest Hill

Hi All, I am considering doing a course of IPL hair removal at the beauty salon in Dulwich Village. Does anyone have any experience doing it there? I have hear mixed reports and thought I would check here too. Are there any other places locally that offer this treatment? Thank you so much U

International EU student in a UK secondary school

Thank you all. I think my friend is just keen to have her daughter to live in England and attend an English school in the hope that this will improve her language. Like you, I am concerned about the GCSE exams and the timing of it all as it is so different to the Spanish curriculum. I will pass all this on. Hugely helpful, thank you. -
Hi All, A bit of a curved ball. I have a friend from Spain who would like to enrol one of her children (aged 15) to study here in England for an academic year and has asked me to help. I have had a look online but it seems rather confusing at first glance so, while I carry on scouting the internet, I wondered if any EDFers have had experience with this or know of someone who has and could point me in the right direction. Hugely appreciated.

Hi All, We are looking at having some rubber flooring installed in our basement. We have narrowed it down to the Dalsouple rubber tiles but then someone told me they had some issues with the sealant that was laid on it making it very dusty and slippery. Has anyone had that experience using Dalsouple rubber tiles too? Thank you for any knowledge you may have Maria

Hi EDFers, I have a similar question to Monkeys above but it is specific to drums. My 4.5yr old has been saying for a while that he wants to play drums. He is fairly musical but I wonder if he is mostly attracted to the huge sound of the drum and not so much the idea of playing something if that makes sense. In any case, I thought I would look into this but haven't found anywhere locally where they can do drums at his age. Does anyone have any recommendations? I am not from a musical background so I don't even know if it is a good idea to start with drums as a first instrument. Thank you all!

Our friends lost their children's coats at Dulwich Park playground. One is blue with white and pink flowers, the other blue with monsters. They are raincoat types. If anyone has seen them, please could you let me know? Thanks

Hi midivydale, sorry to hear you've been under the weather. I have been taking Ferrous Fumarate for two weeks now as I was also told my ferretin levels were rather abnormal. According to my GP and midwife (due number 3 today) the normal range is between 20 and 200. Mine was 7 and they were shocked. There are many causes but the usual treatment, at least to get started, is a high dose of ferrous sulfate. I am taking them twice a day but they said that might increase to three times a day after the baby comes as iron reserves will also suffer somewhat with labour. I am not aware of anything other than taking the supplements that can be done to restore the ferritin levels but I'll be paying close attention to this thread. Best of luck Midivydale!

Thanks Midivydale! I never manage to get through to anyone at G on the phone. Yes, closed indeed due to damage caused by the storm. In case anyone is interested the BUZZ zone in Beckenham Spa is open. Much smaller but quite manageable.

Hi All, does anyone know if Gambados Beckenham is open today? Suffering from cabin fever a little (the kids, not me). Thank you!

I wondered if anyone had any suggestions on paint that can be used to decorate/draw on a baby vest. I think my two boys would like to decorate a couple of vests for their soon to arrive baby brother - maybe their own hand prints? I have found a few pen/marker versions on (forgive me) Amazon but I can't seem to find the right paint for their hand prints. Any suggestions much appreciated!

Where to buy a Nativity set for little ones
spanners45 replied to spanners45's topic in The Family Room Discussion
Thank you everyone for recommendations! Some homework for me this afternoon. -
Hi all, I am keen to get a nice (not plastic) Nativity set for the kids this year. When I was little setting the Nativity scene and decorating the tree were big traditions on the house and I would like to start that too. I have been looking for something nice but haven't had much luck so I wondered if anyone here had any tips. Thanks!

Mine definitely fit into that category of high energy; a 3 year old and a 1 year old (and one more on the way). My approach is also food, sleep and plenty of outdoor time but I sometimes think I need to redirect the focus of the 'outdoor time' because a run around the playground/scoot in the park/even Gambados doesn't seem to cut it each time, especially for the 3 year old. He is a very happy, friendly and sociable boy but he has oodles of energy and sometimes it is hard to know what to do with it all. The 1 year old is much easier, but then he is much younger although he is already displaying 'high energy' skills! I sometimes think I am failing our older boy a bit because I don't quite know how to engage his energy in a successful way: in a way that will mean FUN but will also be a good outlet for all that energy running through his body. I absolutely LOVE his thirst for adventure, his energy (if only I had half of what he has!) and how he is able to enjoy life so much but I want to make sure I am doing my best and that I am not just constantly on his back and 'managing' him if that makes sense through time outs/naughty steps, etc. Activities we do include footie at Jags and tennis sometimes (not counting parks, soft play, etc). Does anyone know of any martial arts classes for little ones? I would love to hear from anyone with ideas for activities that have worked with their kids.

Cleaning of carpets - please help!
spanners45 replied to midivydale's topic in The Family Room Discussion
Hi Midivydale. Two kids + dog in our house so mess a-plenty. We haven't got rugs anywhere but messy activities are limited to kitchen where we have boards (crayons, glue, etc) and then we get Tony from A&M once every 4/5 months; he is great and always very professional. Very good rates. -

New owners must be pretty pleased about all this buzz around their new restaurant. If I were to be a bit cheeky, I would even think their PR people had an inspired idea plantin the 'seed' of rumour. -

Dare I say it was quite badly managed and underwhelming. I walked in and just saw a guy who seemed to be in charge grabbing items off someone's arms saying 'no, not for sale; not that either; not those'. Why not mark things that are not on sale; or even better not have them on display. I was put off by the poor attitude. Popular though so hope they sold the stuff they wanted.
