What to do about all the dog pooh in Dulwich?
TJ replied to TonyQuinn's topic in General ED Issues / Gossip
i have a suspicion it is foxes as well as dogs..... -
To all the people who have responded: Thank you so much for your time. I have spoken to Richard Warren at College Ward Southward police (ED falls into 3 wards, College, Peckham Rye & East Dulwich) who has suggested the following: Please report all thefts, whether petrol theft, registration plate theft, vehicle theft, vandalism, a break in or even suspicious behaviour. We are in a catch-22 where the police are aware of an increase in crimes (particularly vehicle), but cannot act as so many are not properly reported. I am guilty of this as I know it won't achieve anything for that particular incident, however, we must all report each incident. The police said they have made 2 recent arrests, but this relates more to vehicle theft so we all need to keep going. There appears to be more than one team at work. The police know where the root of the problem lies but cannot act without more evidence of crime. If we all apply pressure by reporting every activity, we will soon get a response as the media & politicians will jump on the bandwagon and force plod to respond. Late, but better than never. Please see the link below! Please, please report each of the crimes you told me about! TJ http://www.met.police.uk/reporting_crime/

Hi James - this is great news, except none of the 6 calls and messages i have made / left to the police have been returned. The number I have for college ward is: 020 8721 2442 Really, is it any wonder people dont report crime???? They are bloody useless.

?? Of course, a grainy night shot taken at 3am will solve everything. That is, if they actually come that night! Sue Wrote: ------------------------------------------------------- > You could stay up all night with a camera??

Ok, I was hit again last night. 3 times in 3 weeks. The police are not responding at all to any calls I make. Mr Barber, I need some help accessing someone in the plod who may actually be able to make a suggestion or help.

A ?10 alarm would be disposed of pretty quickly, and then I would be out of pocket for ?8 of petrol, ?20 fuel line plus the alarm. Plus of course, it would be clanking about while you drive. Go and have a look on a vespa just above the exhaust, but under the bodywork, you will see what I mean. Really, a Top Gear style big piano suspended about 10m up with a hair trigger would be great. HOWEVER, The little sods are getting a conscience. They emptied it again last night, but this time left enough in AND reconnected the hose so I could at least get to the garage and fill up on the way to work. I was almost happy. ruffers Wrote: ------------------------------------------------------- > OK, I'm used to motorbikes and didn't realise the > fuel line hung off the bottom. ianr - 2 arrests made, and of course, never guilty until proven, unless it happens to affect me in which case hang the buggers. ruffers - its a tiny rubber pipe hanging off the bottom of the scooter. a design flaw yes, but a sensor would not go off as the movement needed to take the pipe off is minimal. Police called and 'will call you back'. Am personally thinking of a more direct approach and attaching a battery so if the little sods try it again, they and the bike go up in smoke.

TFL are sitting on their hands - we all know this. This is a forum for SE22 residents - are you a se22 resident db? -
This is a quick update - I have already had an astonishing amount of replies from some of you. It is also fascinating as there are two distinct sets of issues, petrol theft and break ins. Please please keep the info coming. It will make a difference.

dbboy, you are really on your own here. The service in general is required to help link the underground to overground network, to pass a highly populated commuter area and to reduce the time it takes to get around london. We are all busy and changing to the local P busses, which run less frequently and are not so reliable is not a solution, but a major compromise. Surely, you can appreciate having busses running from an station to where people live is a good idea?! By using the school run parents as an excuse, points to the possibility you may be one of those parents yourself and are trying to reduce the reasons why parking there should be clamped down on? We all have our points of view and this post is here to support it. Please set up your own post called down with the proposed 63 buss extension and see what support you get. -
I have read some posts on here regarding petrol thefts and a few break-ins over the last few weeks. I have been subject to one break-in and one petrol theft (2 different vehicles) in the same week. Over the last 2 months, there have been 3 vehicle break-ins and 3 petrol thefts I am aware of on our road alone. I am not a doom monger and accept living in London has its ups and downs, but this does seem to be a spike in activity. I am keen to hear what happened to you (not your neighbour, not a friend etc) and where you live roughly (just road is fine) so I can present this to the local police to see how this tallies up with reported crime to see if we can get some additional focus on car crime and more patrols. Mr Barber / Eggleston - do you have anything to add? It would also help give us a guide to where these crimes are taking place with a view to seeing if there is a centric trend that needs focus. This is not a witch hunt, and certainly no vigilante exercise. It is using the reach of the WWW for research and to hopefully reduce local crime. Pls PM me is you have concerns - only post about crimes on here pls, no rants about big brother etc.

thew time it takes to change busses, you might as well walk. The idea is to provide a linked up service with maximum advantages, not break every journey into multiples of 200 yards changes..! -
If you are reading this and you broke into my car on Hillcourt Road last night, you are a little sh1t and if I catch you I will make sure you pay heavily for this. It may have escaped your attention that it is a very old and rare car and replacing a window will take months of searching and cost me around ?500. The stereo you stole is worth ?30. Pathetic.
