Parking ticket for loading...grrrrrr....
TJ replied to American Robin's topic in General ED Issues / Gossip
They don't get paid commission. Its an urban myth and illegal to incentivise parking wardens. -
Just to add my two pence, these crimes are all likely to point to wards a small but dedicated buch of kids, and the only way to stop this is report the crimes and help the police look into this. We know not all crimes will be solved, but themes and trends get investigated and they can target the area. Please please report all the problems and crimes you encounter. It literally takes 5 mins on-line.

Hi Pepsi, we are just trying to keep this on thread, which its seems to be. pepsi Wrote: ------------------------------------------------------- > I wasn't really replying to your post, I was > referring to the post on p. 3. Dear All - Southwark News will be running a piece on this thread - for which I will do all I can to support. The team there (Emma & Olly) would like to hear from other people to confirm the theft and in many cases repeat nature of the thefts. They will contact you through this forum as i do not want to give out anyones details or info. Southwark News have discussed this with the police too. PLease can you support Emma who may be in touch with any info you have or any questions so we can raise the profile of this issue. Thanks TJ

Dear Horsebox, Please PM me with your personal details including your email address and i will share some more details with you. Believe me, the time and effort I have put into this is something I could rather do without. The people on this site have contacted me anonymously and i have a responsibility to maintain their privacy & trust. Alternatively, please call Neil Cook, who is the sergeant of the Peckham Rye Safer neighbourhood team who I have met with, I have shared all my info and can confirm all the problems and that they are investigating further. You have seen James Barber has explained that the police (I flippantly call Plod which is unfair - and as my Grandfather was a chief of police, something I should know better than) in local teams usually stop at 11pm. Looking forward to hearing from you. TJ

Sorry - your humor didn't come across in your post. EH? No nerves touched - and in general I tend to let people know in much clearer and more direct terms if a nerve is touched. I just love this forum and how people love to get involved in something that they have no experience of and regularly miss the original point. People with more time than me I guess. The original point is don't, please, stop in the middle of the bloody road on a crossing and leisurely get out, let the kids out, have a chat with Doris from 'dahn the road' and then swing off flicking the bird at the frustrated drivers trying to get past. Please, park down the road, or yes, come earlier, or yes, use a school bus, or chuck the kids over the wall as you drive past, whatever, just dont stop in the road because you are a selfish cow. x marigolds Wrote: ------------------------------------------------------- > Sounds like Trinity touched a nerve with TJ ! > Schools have Walking to School initiative. Ok - from the start, you're not familiar with this school or this problem, so what are you doing on this thread? Yes, the school is from 4yrs+ and some parents have 2 children. amazing huh? Opening another entrance. You will no doubt be aware that this is a very old school, and if an opportunity for a whole new entrance was needed, someone else in the last 130 years might have thought of it? Do excuse my complete lack of patience.. trinity Wrote: ------------------------------------------------------- > A school entirely populated by 4 year olds?:-S

In a word, No. These are 4 yr olds.... trinity Wrote: ------------------------------------------------------- > I am not very familiar with the school but is it > possible to open another entrance to the school in > order to spread out the area over which people are > parking. > > I know that there are also walking buses to > Goodrich. Goodrich school have been notably quiet on this subject. Anyone know who to contact there?
-
The irony of a pub called the NCT in East Dulwich is an opportunity that is too good to miss!
-
well, political it may be, but also historical. (Lord) Palmerston was the prime minister around the time East dulwich was formed, and considering that the palmerston is at one end of the road, and the Uplands the other, surely the real man's great opponent should be the opposite number: The Gladstone ??
-
The issue is not driving the kids to school, but stopping right outside the school, on a narrow busy road to save the poor old legs the 50 metres walk if you parked round the corner. Goodrich need to step up and sort this out before a kid gets hit by someone trying to squeeze past.

http://www.met.police.uk/saferneighbourhoods Please look on here to find you local team. Please also continue to report on the main Southwark police page.
-
Ok - one more rant for the day. The parents who drive to goodrich... please stop parking on the roundabouts, yellow lines and particularly on the road narrowing part right outside. It really is so selfish.
-
We don't need CCTV on each vehicle - what a daft suggestion! What is being suggested in certain areas / junctions get CCTV. What we need though is more monitoring of key / repeat problem areas (of which, trust me, there are only a couple) and then old plod can;t keep shrugging their shoulders.. The problem is, plod stop working at 11pm, and start at 6. Guess when the majority (in fact 100%) of the crimes I am aware of took place? Bingo.

I looked for garages, but they are ?140 a month, so not worth it for the extra hassle. I've moved my scooter to my secure work parking and use a car to commute now. A pain in the neck. I have had the police in touch since I made a formal complaint and they really don't think there is anything resembling a problem. Please all call the following number: Neil Cook 02087212443 and tell him what you think.
-
growly - please please report this - it takes 10 minutes max. Sophie - that's what I've had to do for plod and now the stabbing time and politicks are involved they are getting interested. I think a complaint to the regional commander helped too. Please keep reporting anything. Regading what can they do? They can increase patrols, they could come and fingerprint the vehicles to see if it is a resistered criminal, they could look at trends and consider staking out or CCTV etc etc.
-
Please report it!! No reports, the police do nothing and it doesn't regster on their crime levels. The more unsolved crimes, the more trouble they get, so the harder they work! Its a bobby carrot!
-
Thanks TMIB - I have contacted the press and they seem interested in running a story.
-
I have been contacted by one of you about another theft last night - The police are beginning to take notice - please please report all the thefts! I have also been in touch with the Southwark news to get them on board - they are contacting the police for a their side of the story, but we now need more & more pressure on them to act! Hopefully, a few articles and a few more politicians getting involved will get the police involved fully!
