  1. Thanks for the additional replies. I am definitely on their list but it does seem to run a bit differently to the main ante-natal section as they don't send a letter but the midwife phones (at some undetermined point) directly to arrange the booking-in appointment. I haven't yet had a call but I've been re-assured I'm on their list. I've had quite a few friends who have been looked after by the Brierley team and all have had hugely positive experiences.
  2. What would I do without the EDF? Thanks so much for your replies :)) I really appreciate it. You've put my mind to rest and I'll give them a call on Monday. I don't think I can do the Lanes as I live close to Dulwich Hospital and am not with the DMC.
  3. I hope someone can help with this as I'm beginning to feel slightly anxious. I am newly pregnant (6 weeks) and went to my GP last week and asked to be referred to the Brierley Midwives as I want a homebirth and the type of caseload care that they provide. This morning I received a letter from Kings about the nuchal scan and it also says that 'a request has been made for you to book at King's College Hospital for the birth of your baby'. I have not yet received a booking-in letter from any midwives. I am worried that my GP didn't understand who the Brierley team are and just generally put me down for Kings. Can anyone enlighten me as to how the Brierley referral works. I know they only have a certain number of women they will take on each month and am worried that I have/will miss the boat. I have found the contact info for the Brierley here on the EDF so will call on Monday but any information in the meantime would be very gladly received.
  4. The number of times I have almost been hit on these crossings is absolutely astounding (3 times in the last 2 days :(). I have not had a similar experience anywhere in London. I completely agree that action needs to be taken but fear that an accident is required for measures to be considered. After my experiences and after reading this thread I will be now writing to the Council to complain. They did put 2 additional crossings/traffic lights in on Lordship Lane recently where the traffic is slower and where vehicles previously had the right of way so I would think it is possible here as well.
  5. Pippi Longstocking and for when she gets a bit older Junie B. Jones.
  6. Is this being held at the children's centre or Sunray Gardens Park?
  7. I've not seen them but I would suggest contacting Southwark's Planning Department to check if they have consent to display the advertisements. From your description I would guess they don't and as such can take action to remove them.
  8. My children love to eat beans especially chickpeas :-)
  9. Thank you very much for all your replies.
  10. I hope someone can help. I've tried phoning the school but haven't managed to get through to anyone :( I know boys are supposed to wear navy trousers but does this include the jogging sort or is it only proper zip up trousers? Also what type and colour of shoe (trainer, etc.) are boys supposed to wear. There is no info on shoes in the uniform list I have. Thanks in advance for your help.
  11. The deadline is actually tomorrow (Friday) 10 February so you have a bit more time :)
