Hello, I've just had a solicitor at my door- a young man from 'Youth Opportunities' named Brandon. He had the 'ID' card. I couldn't afford his high-priced dustcloths etc but I gave him a donation of ?3 because I thought I'd try to help. As always, I looked up the cause online and found...questionable reports. Any idea? I shook his hand and had a look at him- he was looking into my flat but everyone seems to do that at the door. I don't want to be suspicious of people in hard times, but a moment after I looked for him and he was nowhere in sight up or down the block. Thanks...

I would like a pharmacy with a bigger range of makeup, etc...or I can keep going into Peckham, I suppose. Also a privately run small stationer's, like the one that was once here! don't like chain shops much...

It's not just the pubs, it's on the buses, sidewalks, and in shops and cafes, too. The spoilers who think the fact they have a baby gives them the right to act like bullies over space with huge prams, bags, and all. I actually like kids in pubs and hope it doesn't change. Dogs, too, if they are somewhat trained and hygenic. Same goes for babies. Unfortunately they are often not. So the management could ask people to please reasonably control their dogs and children or be asked to leave. Kids will be kids and they will go into places they shouldn't and make unreasonable noises. I don't mind that at all; I even like it; It's the rude, selfish parents I have a problem with. A little consideration on both sides always goes a long way towards a good outcome.

Wow, this is amazing and worth forwarding to the correct administrative authorities~ all this week I have received the neighbour's mail everyday through my letterbox and nothing addressed to me. Terrible and careless service. Any names I don't recognize I re-post with 'not at this address~return to sender'. I have had neighbours kindly pass misdirected mail back to me and vice versa, but I wonder what is missed? Also, several overseas packets I have mailed from the Plough post without registering (the contents were not worth the customs duty the recipient would have to pay upon receipt) never arrived. I had put address, return address, and phone number in more than one spot on the packages and at least five have never made it to their destination, including Christmas gifts, and queries have already been made at the receiving end. Boo! As a side note, the Royal Mail vans are, bar none, the scariest, most reckless drivers on the road, and the apparent condition of the vans proves this; my conclusion being, are the postal workers of questionable character? Do they need a review, an 'upgrade'? Thanks for your time!

I find that good customer service is generally thought to be an inconvenience in London; with some exceptions, of course.

Whoa that really sucks, I am sorry for your trouble. Some thoughts for helpful suggestions in the future, and I will heed them myself; buy or make a phone case with a wrist strap, and try to refrain from using your phone on the bus or when walking along the street, as it sounds like a particular target and leaves you unaware of what is around you. 'pull over' near a shop door, and take the time to make a call when you are in a position to do so, and always try to be aware what's around you. Today I saw a little girl shoplifting at the thrift store with her Mom (presumably). She whispered, 'here, put this watch in the bag' and did this with a couple of items and with very little shame. I chose not to say, 'Little girl, it's not okay to steal and be dishonest, and it adds more ugliness to the world', regretfully,but I was quite shocked and didn't fancy a scene in the charity shop nor feel like being righteous today. Don't know why I mentioned it- I guess it's a pretty regular way of life for some folks.

I live on Underhill and was really happy to hear people enjoying life and having fun that weekend. If I can't sleep I wear earplugs, a brilliant invention for 'tolerating' other human beings. Probably people who are too stressed from not enough joy and too much regime in life can't sleep without silent conditions. I hope you remedy this! 'Dancing Queen' is nicer than screeching fornicating foxes anyday. If party noise happens enough to be offensive, why not speak to the offenders directly? You'll probably sleep better after this. They were cordial to me, if a bit nervous and reserved, but had only white paper for photocopying, a little outdated in my opine! Still, I was most happy to go to a local place and not be forced into chain-store 'options' where policy and profit prevails and service is almost non-existent. Seems these folks may be happy to move on from their shop daze- Best of Luck, Health, and Happiness, So Long! Gee, I hope we get another kitchen shop in its place- har-de-har har!! Could use some practical amenities in the 'hood, such as stationery- or is it become obsolete?
