School run: central Sydenham to West Dulwich - car or train?
willjac replied to mbyrne's topic in The Family Room Discussion
We did it for 3 years. It?s not too bad. You learn short cuts and side streets along the way. Sometimes you can do it in 15/20 mins other times 30/35 mins -
Magic Link handwriting programme recommendations
willjac replied to Monkey's topic in The Family Room Discussion
We did classes with Lee in her home in North London. Worth every last penny - handwriting came along in such a short space of time. Improvement exceeded our expectations. I'm not sure we would have had the same result just doing the dvd's however -
Does anyone know if the temp lights are still in place?

Hi, another recommendation for Andy & Richard. Came round & hung a heavy mirror. Lovely guys - got a quote for some tiling to be done - wouldn't hesitate to recommend them !

We are getting ours from Bromley Blinds (don't think they are linked to Hilary's from what there were saying). I just had the final measure up and payment taken today and they will be in before Christmas

East Dulwich Resident - your stuff is dumped in my street
willjac replied to char1i3's topic in General ED Issues / Gossip
A friend of mine had a similar experience. It turns out the man and a van who she hired and paid to dispose of her rubbish took it from her house and then just dumped it a few streets down the road. Could be what has happened here ?! -
Thank you - will get in touch with her x

Brockwell park fountains and paddling pool - is water on??
willjac replied to TaraCrowe's topic in The Family Room Discussion
We were there yesterday and it was on !! -
May I ask - why is it worth doing ? I've been on indefinite leave to remain for the last 6 years. Sorry to be thick but what would I gain being classed as a british citizen??

Polla 2256 - I had the same conversation on Wednesday evening. I waited the 48 hour period to be contacted. No phone call was received. I've just called again to follow up on it and was told that in fact the advisor should have not said that they would terminate my contract and waiver the four months cancellation charge for terminating early. They are now trying to recall the recorded conversation from Wednesday night and if they do find this was promised to me will cancel my contract without a charge. I now have to wait for Vodafone to call me within 7 days - the wait continues !
-
I too am waiting for a call to confirm whether I can cancel my contract with them as I no longer can "sit and wait" for the problem to be rectified - Laxton House - have they now been in contact with you? What was the outcome?

There's the Victoria Inn - a little further afield I know - but has a fantastic jungle themed playroom perfect for toddlers http://www.victoriainnpeckham.com/pub/kid's-room.aspx

I've just had mine taken away - I had it placed leaning on the brown bin - and they had no problems taking it. Lovely!

Crying daily at 5pm for hours.. Advice please
willjac replied to Strawbs's topic in The Family Room Discussion
My son had exactly the same. Started around 7 weeks and then the moment he turned 13 weeks it stopped. In those really tough 3 hours in of constant crying we would get in the bath with him & that provided a small window of relief. Sometimes it was 2 baths a night!! Also the crying would stop when the hair dryer was on for a small period of time. It may seem like its forever at the time but they do seem to come out the other side as quickly as it all started. Good luck! -
thanks Pickle Yes admittedly the last time we flew to NZ with him was in business (he was just 5 months old) so was not a problem but now the thought of trying to keep him confined within a small space makes me very nervous for that length of time! I think I will go for buying him a seat too & pray for an empty flight! Thank you

sorry to hi-jack thread I will be flying out to NZ in a couple of months on my own on the way out with my son & I'm trying to decide whether to buy my son a seat (will be 21 months when we fly)/ move to a higher class seat etc to make the flight more manageable. Can I ask, Pickle, in your experience (with all those flights under your belt with kids!) what would you say would be the best seat configuration for us? Thank you

I managed to track it down at the pharmacy bit in Morrisons in Peckham - they had both the gel & the liquid

Sorry yes they did offer a refund for the box whole box of the nappies this packet came out of. Well they are going to send vouchers - which I thought I could pass onto my childminder for wipes. They also want me to send a nappy for each packet in the box but wouldn't disclose if they would test it for anything...

Our nappies were bought at Sainsburys Dog Kennel Hill too Just spoke with Pampers. Complete waste of time. They couldn't comment on any other issues others may have had with the Baby Dry nappies but did say they were suprised I had experienced a problem with this range as it would seem the Active Fit range is what most people are having difficulties with (she did say problems as in leaking not rashes)! I was also advised their medical team couldn't speak to me until I had filled out a questionnaire and returned it to them. They did suggest trying their Simply Dry range (orange packet ones) as they don't have all the extra benfits that the other ranges provide?! - oh like the added chemicals that burn our babies skin!
